Don’t know how I missed this...I still am in shock over that sentence...a box of cheezits every other year!![]()
I had a conversation with myself about this today. Hubby was in the car, and I pretended to be talking to him, but it was with myself. I gotta finish some work stuff before dinner is ready (2 big frozen chicken breasts that I'm pressure cooking, then gonna air crisp in the Ninja Foodi. We'll see how it turns out.) Anyway, I'm gonna come back and write out my thoughts, mostly so i'll have it here if I need to read it later.Don’t know how I missed this...
We pretend to be low-carb, even when we’re not SB’ing it. We keep tons of veggies on hand but very little processed food.
My vices fall in the salty/greasy category. No bag of chips is safe around me, while a tub of ice cream can live safely in the freezer for a month. Meanwhile Hubs has the sweet tooth, where he can take or leave crackers and chips, but will devour anything sweet. We agreed early on to keep this stuff out of the house, unless we have company, which is probably why we don’t (yet) live in triple-XL sweats and muumuus all day long. (We are reluctant acknowledging that alcohol is a carb, dammit.)
I moved to phase 2 today and celebrated with a bowl of Cheerios. Which is a pretty pitiful celebration, now that I think of it.
Congrats on breaking the 200 pound barrier.
Looks like you are half way to your goal in just over a month.
Great job!
As long as you can then take it back off, then ???I appreciate it.
When I get on the plan it all works out.
But
This is the second year in a row that I’ve gotten fat over the holidays. that needs to stop.
maybe this time I’ll hold it together.
I don't even need the holidays to get off track. I just get bored with eating healthy. I don't know why I do that, cause I feel so much better when I'm eating better.I appreciate it.

I guess otherwise go under goal weight before the holidays to allow wiggle room.
I hate the thought of being a permanent slave to the scales. I’m hoping that there’s the option of a little give and take.

Well, I don’t know about you, but I think with me it’s just not wanting to behave. Sort of a “don’t tell me what to do” thing?I'm in the same boat with salty fatty stuff. There is no stop once I start. Chips, crunchy crackers, even roasted and salted pistachios. That saltiness makes me want to just keep eating.
I'm not a sweets person, don't care for fruit, don't like things that shouldn't be sweet to be sweet (mayo, ranch salad dressing, etc).
What I have found when I eat healthy for an extended period of time, is that if I have a bite or taste of something like Hot & Spicy CheezIts or Chili Cheese Fritos, they just taste artificial and processed (which duh, they are.) I don't know the science behind it, but I know that if I don't have a developed addiction to the bad stuff, I don't enjoy it. And it does take time to develop that addiction again, whatever it is that makes the junk food and garbage satisfying.
Now I just have to figure out why I take the first few steps of going back. That part I, obviously, haven't figured out yet.
I'm like your hubby. I can leave behind the salty but not the sweets. But I still enjoy it all.Don’t know how I missed this...

Oh.I'm like your hubby. I can leave behind the salty but not the sweets. But I still enjoy it all.
Completely eliminating something has never worked for me. If I have a craving I'll make sure to enjoy it in proper portion and moderation.
