Friday weigh in thread (suns out guns out challenge 8/31/2025)

I sadly gave up (for the indefinite future) wine. The empty calories in alcohol were just too much for my old-lady metabolism, which is apparently similar to that of a garden slug.

It seems to be working, as I’m back to losing weight, although it’s obvious that I’ll never again be able to lose a pound and a half a week, week in, week out. Boo.

Waaah, this was my only vice!

I miss wine. But I developed an allergy to it.

I’m surprised that I don’t particularly miss it. At any rate, it’ll be around if I want to resume, once I can get this weight off!
I think I mostly like the idea of a glass of wine. Its very situational for me. Only red though. White gives me a headache.

-2.2 wowsers! I nearly picked up the scale and shook it, but thought better of it.

-6.8 since joining this happy throng, -9 since return from Cuba on Jan 20 (I only use Cuba as a start point since it's the longest time I've gone without scales.)

What does your "overall" include? Is that from when you really knocked off weight last year or whenever? I thought I remembered reading that you were currently just taking off the holiday creep.
 
I guess this is where I need to learn to be satisfied with the fact that I'm doing healthy things for myself, whether it changes the outward appearance or not. I might just be at the point where it is what it is.

Oh, well. Got up and got on the treadmill this morning.

I'm still trying to get younger. I know if I put my mind to it I will be 40 again. Wow!! 40 is younger!! LOL

From beginning of June 2018. Got to my goal of 15 lbs in August 2018. Stay around 14-17 lbs loss usually, but birthdays/holidays it's around 10 lbs. 19 lbs was my highest before today, 19.8 is my new highest weight loss total so far. I mean that freaking incorrect scale couldn't give me 0.2 more!? :D

Where are you vs your goal

My goal was 15. Just continuing what I'm doing and seeing what happens, it feels great. My older sister has a much better body than me - athletic and toned, but I've never thought about going that route because that is just not realistic. So for me it was just getting to a healthier point of proper portions and activity.
