I've been in maintenance mode for a while but I need to step it up again for a few weeks. I just got back from a 2 week business trip to Belgium and I have another 3 week trip coming up in Sept, so I'd like to be around 153 before that trip.

As long as I’m below 145, I’m happy. I’m at about 13-15% body fat right now. I’m lifting weights, but I’m not concerned about “optimal muscle gain.” I tried that once and only ended up injuring my joints. I’m in it for the long haul. Ideally, I’d like my skinny arms to grow, which will take years. So no rush. Let’s take it slow and consistent without getting hurt, please.

Haven’t seen 200 since 2018. Lowest I’ve been in 25 years is 194. I plan to surpass that in the next couple of months. I don’t ever want to see 200 again.

Yeah. Not going back. I feel too good to sabotage myself again.
Good luck on the rest of your journey! Take it one day at a time. It’ll be over before you know it!

Once you reach your goal, I find that maintaining weight is much easier. You’ve already created healthy habits for yourself, so just keep doing what you’ve been doing, but you get to eat a little more! And if you accidentally overindulge one day, it’s easy to make up for it by eating at your diet rate the next day, and only have to do it for one day, not several more months!

Good for you! 225 lbs is about where I started back in July 2021. I got under 160 lbs in April of 2022, and I haven’t gone back over that weight since then.

Wow!! That’s a great story!

I honestly don’t know where I’ll end up, but I know I have more than 10 lbs to go, maybe 20. I think if I were at my healthiest, I’d probably be 175-185. I’m lifting weights in addition to cutting calories, so it’s harder to put on muscle, but it’s gone pretty well so far.

Thank you. Just be careful and don’t push yourself too hard. I did, and injuries set me back multiple times. Listen to your body, and it’s okay to take diet breaks. It’s a journey, not an inconvenience until you’ve arrived. You’re developing healthy habits, not just trying to reach a goal.
