Friday weigh in thread (suns out guns out challenge 8/31/2025)

I was looking for the weightlifting or fitness thread. Is this it? I'm looking for suggestions, may be a top 10 list, of best foods to eat regularly to try to lean up. I'm working out pretty hard 3 - 4 times a week. Need to make the most out of those CrossFit workouts. Thanks.

Eat real food majority of the time.

Paleo is big in Crossfiit.

If you're working out hard with CF 3-4x a week, make sure you are getting solid rest and recovery on off days.

Thanks Slice. I am far from an expert, but what I have done has allowed me to drop and maintain a 60lb + loss over the past year.

I log everything that I eat and drink with an app called Lose It. You put in your current weight and put a goal weight and choose an option of losing 1 or 2 lbs per week. It will give you a daily caloric intake amount. I do this religiously.

I also bought a bluetooth scale and weigh myself every single morning. It syncs with my app and sends the information directly to it, so its accurate and holds me accountable each day. If I gain a lb or so, then I cut back the next day or two. If I gain, its typically me having a cheat day or going over on my calories.

I also work out 6 days per week. I do 3 days of cardio and 3 days of weights. I use Mondays as my rest day. If I miss a day, I double up on the weekends. That's it.

The good news is that I've had to buy an entirely new wardrobe and my energy levels are through the roof. People tell me I look 10 years younger all of the time.
 
Thanks gents. Chavis, what do you mean by "real food?" I'm assuming fruits, raw veggies, animal proteins? As in, not processed? Yeah, I've got to get better about getting rest/sleep.

I went on vacation last week and was bad.
Came back at 215. Started back on sugar free diet (no soda unsweetened tea ect) started back to working out. Shoulder hurts like hell but Dr says ignore it and keep going.

I wouldn’t worry. Probably adding muscle weight
 
Came in at 183.5 today. I scaled back the lifting by one day and upped the cardio in its place, and I'm getting more of the results I want. I'm not trying to be a bodybuilder.

Change of work out routine
No more weight lifting.

Back at it again to lose 15 lbs. Increased activity level and decreased calorie intake the last couple weeks. Using My Fitness Pal to track intake. Down 2.4 this week, 4.4 overall.
