With all due respect....how can this be? This is like saying I love Team America, but Team Soviet Union is my 2nd favorite...or I love the Vols, but my second favorite team is a bunch of backwoods azz brother lovers.....I don't get it

Reminds me of all those orange stickers on jacked up 4x4that I use to see all over the state back when FULMER WAS THE COACH... Anyone else rememeber the Pi$$ on Bama Stickers or know where I can get one?

not even close to being as bad....the 2005 team that lost to Vandy couldn't walk and chew gum on offense and last year's team was a .500 MASH unit when they lost to KY.....BUT the '96 Vols were loaded with NFL talent and had Manning at QB....that loss was a HUGE embarrassment

1) Don't care whether you understand or not. Makes not a bit of difference to me.
2) Have been a fan of The UT longer than most of you are old, so your opines of me have little or not relevance.
3) Have lived in 3 different states in my lifetime. Happened to grow up as a Bama fan, lived the longest in FL, but that doesn't make me a gator fan.

The day you see me pulling for Bama over The UT you let me know. I happen to be a fan of the TWO greatest college football teams in the world. When you guys grow up a little, maybe you can pull for a 2nd team too.

No Volnation back then, but most of the chatter on the call in shows back then was in favor of Fulmer replacing CJM, especially after the SCjr and Arky loses in the middle of the season. Most of the sentiment on this board IIRC was fairly positive until the 05 team started out pre season top 5 then crapped all over themselves.

1)Easy Bro that wasnt a personal attack, just pointing out that many of the "old school" folks typically feel the same way and thats because we remember what if feels like to get your butt handed too you every year by bama ( like whats happening now) I was raised to hate Bama first..It is my duty as a vol!
2) My first game was in 1975 so can you go easy on making me feel old but I can relate. I feel old around here most of the time. My point is I'm not a newb
3) Ive lived in 4 states, worn and traveled with orange to 43 states and 37 countries and I dont have a "2nd" team. But if i did "grow up" and get a second team it would def be Auburn or LSU because their hatred of the Tide rivals Tennessee and the enemy of my enemy is my friend. :)

I can see this is a sensitive topic for you......but I did say with all due respect.....I was just curious how that could be the case with the amount of contempt that most Vols have for the Bammers

It's called growing up there, going to HS there, playing on the first two SC teams our HS had, and winning the first one on a field that The Bear dedicated. Once again, I really don't give a crap and happen to think that the two Bama trolls we have are pretty much dickweeds.

Majority of those back then wanted Fulmer to replace Majors after he began the season 3-0. But, I also remember how pizzed people were
when we tied Bama in 93 and lost in 94 and Fulmer began his loosing streak against Florida. We traded Majors and his inability to beat Bama for Fulmer and Florida!

i was one of those. After we beat Georgia then Florida I liked Fulmer but still felt it was Majors team. But after losing three straight in the middle of the season it was time for a change. From 95 till about 01 it seemed like the right move, and it was at the time. After the 05 trainwreck it was obvious that it was time for another change. We were never going to get back to that level again.

So wrong. All we needed was a real OC who knew something about running the football. Hell, for that matter, taking a snap. Fulmer gave in to the boosters and Mike Hamilton ( along with a bunch of mouthy fans with little to no knowledge of the game) who had become enamored with Urban meyer - that was his downfall. Instead of sticking to his guns, he went out and hired Freaking Clawson cause he fit the mold.
