CPF Haters, lmao, the last 4 senior classes can be blamed on Phil, the rebuilding of a depleted roster can be blamed on Phil and the pains we have endured the past 3 years from having to rebuild can be blamed on Phil. That is not hating that is simply stating facts.

Fairly correct. And give him credit for the good (which I am currently compiling) and we will be all good. Can we all just get along now? -- the post concerning all the good will dwarf your above post about the bad. Greatly.

Thats what I'm saying bro no hate!

Ok, is it Fulmer's fault for not letting the offensive guru Clawson run the offense?, OR, is is Fulmer's fault for supporting his hiring? I know it's Fulmers fault to you, so which is it. Im sure you can twist it around and say both are true.

Twist on !!

I believe it wasn't a good fit. The statement you quoted from me has nothing to do with this context.

Stop embarrassing yourself. You seem to believe everything has to be an absolute extreme.

BTW, you dont' know Jack about me or what I think:birgits_giggle:

I somewhat agree. We have some on here that blame Fulmer for every loss, but the wins were because he was "lucky" or inherited juggernauts. He cant be blamed forever, sorry. At some point the CPF haters are gonna have to blame the new regime.

Another embarrassing post for you. No one is a hater. It's obvious you haven't got a clue and are out of your league trying to debate on an adult level

Technically, he has partial responsibilty for the seniors this year. After that, he has no one here. As far as I am concerned, he has no responsibility for what happens this year. CDD bears full responsibility, but be mindful that he isn't playing with a full team yet. I think one more GOOD (top 12 or so) recruiting class with the MAXIMUM number of signees will wash the slate clean of the Spliffin curse also. He is coming out of the dark, but the sun is not quite up yet.

The head coach is ultimately responsible for losses. In his last few years, fulmer had too many losses and lost his job--very simple.

How about CPF and CDD shake hands and CPF gets on the CDD bandwagon and when CDD ID's a recruit, CPF goes out and brings him into the fold? With CPF and CDD recruiting, we should be able to be in the top 5 and definitely top 10 every year.

Fulmer had 29 wins his last four years. The three years without him UT has had 17. Just need 12 wins this to do as well as Fulmer's "last years."

2005 - 5-7 Randy Sanders last year as OC
2006 - 9-4 Cutcliffe returned
2007 - 10-4 Cutcliffe final year
2008 - 5-7 No Cutcliffe

Spin it however you want to but, Cutcliffe return gave Phil more time. I would have hated to see the 06 and 07 season without Cut being back.

Dear CPF, please call Dan Skipper, talk to him OLman to OLman and make sure he stays committed. That is all.

Ok, so I guess I'm the dumbass for not letting my mind think that the whole ousting of CPF the way it went down, etc., wasnt a bust? Oh OK.

Actually, I think Fulmer bears some of the blame still, if CDD doesn't get it turned around this year or next. What I mean is you have to look at the shape of the program not just recruits. For most of us, if we were coming out of high school would we want to play for a winning program that doesn't have drama or a loosing one that does? It's not like he left a Butch Davis or Pete Carrol program. Shucks, he didn't even leave a Mike Dubose or Gerry Dinardo program.

I can agree....however, the poster that I replied too is also correct, we eventually have to let CPF go and move on. I really think that if we win this year that the "shape of the program" will be fixed. Even if we have a mediocre season and they let CDD go, the new facilities and a known coach will dispell what ever bad juju the program had from the Spliffin/CPF exchange. JMHO.

And 10 more IQ points to move into sub-idiot levels.....come on man...don't go there

I think the senior class itself speaks for Fulmer's recruiting practices (or lack thereof) during the mid-to late 2000's.

Whatever

the guy won a national championship at Richmond just one year prior to coming to Knoxville. He forgot more about offense on his very worst day than you will ever know on your best day.

how's it relevant to compare his football knowledge to mine.
he was hired at Tennessee to put a winning offense on the field, and teach and coach his offense to the players, and he failed. Tennessee finished 113th out if 117 on offense.

He's really tearing it up at Bowling Green too- 14-23

The lack of consistency doesn't help at all, either. I'd bet they'd be better (not saying all-world) had Fulmer still been the coach.

Fulmer was fired because he couldn't recruit or coach in the modern day SEC. It wasn't the '90s where you threw a net in the lake and waited for the big fish to hop inside. And in the 90s ol' Phil only had to worry about UF being good in the East, and even if you lost to them you could still make a major bowl game because of how average all the other teams were. Why do some people still not understand this? It's extremely easy to grasp.

Phil was 2-2-1 against Stallings at Bama 1992-1996
Phil went 4-0 against Dubose at Bama 1997-2000
Phil was 1-1 against Franchione at Bama 2001-2002
Phil went 3-1 against Shula at Bama 2003-2006
Phil was 0-2 against Saban at Bama 2007-2008

The only times we owned Bama was when they had terrible coaches not because Phil was dominant.

Phil went 3-7 against Spurrier if you count the 1992 season thru 2001
Phil went 0-4 against Meyer 2005-2008

As the schools in the SEC upgraded their coaching staffs it became apparent that the winning ways on the hill were changing and not for the better.
