Fulmer debate extravaganza (merged)

honestly, no better or worse since at least someone is trying to find a solution to the issue. It sure beats watching Fulmer grind out 5-7 wins per season in an effort to take over the wins record.

If what we have seen is a solution, someone does not understand the question.

yeah, just ignore the whole phrase I used which was "trying to find a solution"

Fulmer failed and got fired. Trying to justify keeping him based on his replacements is stupid

I have not resorted to name calling. You are right. I stand corrected.

His replacements are a valid point if firing CPF was based on winning gmes.

God let this die already...butch is our coach so support him or go find a new team. We don't want you

If you don't like the thread stay out.....we don't want you either.

BTW. I support Butch, but you obviously have not bothered to read my posts. I always support my Vols, but the issue is the way CPF was treated. And why am I wasting my time explaining this to you.

Did I say your name...no.....OK shut up

When are we going to stop talking about this guy? He was good in his time from about 95-00 but after that he lost it. The writing was on the wall after 01 but we let him hang around for 6 more years and it put us in the dumpster we are in now. It's time to move on. Bigger and better things are ahead of us, not behind us.
:salute:

Not sure the bUTcher boy is the answer though either...........

That may well be the case but we have to go forward regardless. He is who we have now so we need to support him til we see if he is going to be another Dooley. I think he will do better than that. Whether he will be able to recruit well enough to keep up with the rest of the conference is another matter.

You are right. He is the coach, he deserves a chance. I fear the program degradation may be awfully hard to ever reinvigorate with a continued pattern of losing however.

probably because it is one of the most ridiculous posts I've ever read on VN

He is responsible for bringing our Vols to national prominence and you know it. You just will not admit it.

Let me ask you this: If his resume was posted without his name, would you consider hiring him based on accomplishments?

sorry, he's not. Study a bit about UT football history

in 2000? Sure

in 2013 where he has to face Saban, Spurrier, Richt, etc? Not a chance

2000 is history and you are agreeing with me. Who in recent memory has meant more to Vol football other than CPF?

He is saying all the right things, but so did the other two. I hope he restores our great tradition (started by CPF). If he does, this thread finally goes away.

I think Coach Jones may be the answer. I sure hope so.

TN had a great tradition before Fulmer ever stepped foot on campus. He did help add to the tradition. Gen Neyland is the King of TN football and always will be.

I hope so too Gramps. Hope all is well with you.

BTW. In recent memory it is CPF.

If he couldn't beat Spurrier, he sure isn't going to beat Saban. The losing had started against Richt as well.

IMO he is saying with what he knows after 2000, there is no way an intelligent human being would hire Fulmer in 2013. The guy got lazy and laid an egg that should have never happened.
