For what it is worth, as it pertains to my own sanity I have decided not to participate in any real Fulmer debate up to this point. I have heard and seen all possible arguments from all sides, and I have come to this conclusion. The 2008 football season cannot get here fast enough.
At one point the losses to Alabama and Florida put the nail in the coffin for me. It wasn't the losses themselves that did it. It was the manner in which each game was lost.
Then, Fulmer goes out and hires someone from outside the program to run his offense, and by all indications he has given the autonomy appropriate for the position. That was a step in the right direction that should have occured ten years ago.
I cannot lament the time passed because that is wasted time itself. Looking forward I will stick to my guns. 2008 is Fulmer's chance. Losses similar to Bama's and Florida's won't be tolerated. Contrary to popular opinion of the "negavols" I don't think that Thunder T, or any other prominent boosters have infinite patience either.
Installing a new offense will not be the excuse for losses. This is CPF's team. This is CPF's staff. If they don't pass the eyeball test against the heavy weights of the SEC there will be no further acceptable excuses.
