Fulmer Debate II

Fulmer's problem wasn't that he didn't get it...his problem was that he couldn't sell it.

Fulmer had a great career. Started from the bottom. Went all the way to the top. Reached the end of his rope. Should not be remembered as some sort of failure for finishing with two losing seasons out of 17. As more time passes the morons who talk that bull**** will gradually grasp this apparently slippery fact. How is a champion hall of fame career bad? It's not even average or mediocre. It's a fairly ****ing exceptional career as most "average" coaches can attest.

Serious question...

What will Foster admitting to taking money while playing for Phil do to his legacy, if it is proven to be true?

Welcome to year 5 without Fulmer.

And what pure unbridled joy it has been. His defenders predicted this -- that without Fulmer, we would become truly irrelevant, a national afterthought, returning to most of the years in the 1980's when we were usually irrelevant (1985 wonderfully exempted, but that's also why that year is so memorable in Tennessee fans' heads -- it was so unusual back then for a season like 1985 to exist) before Fulmer's rise within the program. Fulmer supporters saw a Fulmer-less Tennessee team with years of 6-loss seasons to come.

By contrast, his critics promised quick return to glory, which they said only Fulmer was holding back, with coaches begging to come here, and 11-win seasons right around the corner.

We now know who was right and who was wrong.

Only solidify the notion that Phil was not just a coach to UT Players under him. Hence, why all the players came to his defense regardless of truth or not.
