Oh yeah, I was around then! Around for all those years he couldn't beat Spurrier, around when he was the top dog in a weak SEC conference and was around when he was running the program in the ground and getting blown out by very weak ACC teams in bowl games. All you Fulmerites push him up because everyone was down well if he was that good why didn't he win more NCs? The 99 team was essentially the same as the 98! And those other "great" teams ofthe 90? Yeah, I'm proud of the 98 NC but lets not forget it wasn't a blow out and it was against the 3rd string QB after-all!
Actually, yes it did. It made PSU more prevalent nationally than the should have been. Thanks for helping me prove my point.
You'll understand more once you get your GED
Fulmer didn't win any games. Cutcliffe and Chavis did, with Majors recruits. Pay attention, CPF was 0-52.
Wow, you are Vol fan? Show CPF respect or just be quiet.
You do understand that a good or great coach....HIRES great assistants. right? CPF is all VOL, gave his life to winning games for UT...then jerks like us debate whether or not was a great coach. CPF was 0-52? turn in your vol card at the door please
Yes. I haven't looked but I'm willing to bet it took less than 17 years! Saying that, the rate of deteriation of the program under CPF the last few years would have made it another 16 ears before he matched NEYLAND!
I think you Fulmerites want to make him out as this great coach that was done wrong but neither is the case. He wasn't and is not in the same league as Neyland, Paterno, Bowden, Bryant etc. They actually built programs into successful powerhouses and that is why they are respected. All CPF did was take over the reins of a successful team with a solid foundation. To make even more of a point, how was that foundation when he finally departed? And, better yet, why was he fired in the first place? It wasn't because he was winning!
