If you want to count conference championships Majors had 3 in just as many years coaching as Fulmer. He did it with lesser talent. Dickey had 2 in 5 years as coach. While I would put Fulmer in this class you have to consider that he never had to build a program like Dickey or Majors. And I question if he could?
I also think that Fulmer without Cutcliff was a very average coach at UT.
Sorry. I went back and checked. We did not win any games since 1999. You were correct. :hi:
He has everything we need to get the program back to being competitive and implementing a coaching search, and subsequent transition, upon his retirement.
Fulmer would be the best choice for stability if gruden declines. People can say all the negative but hard to argue 152-52.
Hes getting his last check tomorrow and you people think Tennessee would re hire him?? Not gonna happen and plus i would be one pissed of Vol fan! That would be horrible! That would be pathetic! That would be stupid! That would be insane ! That would be the dumbest move in coaching history ! Im gonna go throw up now! BTW Fulmer is not gonna be HC at Tennessee. Jesus Christ.
Do you guys remember starting 2 walk on olinemen and a walkon lb'er the year after Fulmer was fired?
Quite simply we are still reaping what Fulmer left us.
Dude, Fulmer got it started. I didnt mention we had to get a juco qb and had no kickers. No way in hell Fulmer gets a do over on the hill. You're reaping the fact that UT hired the savior at the time Kiffen and then went on to screw it up more by hiring Dooley. That's what you're reaping. It's not Fulmers fault that Tennessee can't seem to find a decent coach.

Yet we had walkons starting all over the field.
Really you believe to rehire Fulmer would be worse than the Dooley hire?
Just going off what I think was one of the dumbest coaching moves in history when we hired Dooley.
Over the top maybe a little.

Two Parade All-American, five U.S. Army All-Americans and three Gatorade Player of the Year from their perspective states, it's hard to imagine a complete flop.
As much as anything, the Vols addressed their most pressing needs, such as defensive back and wide receiver. UT's 2007 class is widely thought of as one of the top five in the nation. At 33 signees, it's also Fulmer's largest.
