For me this was never the argument. Of course he was a good coach. But I think anyone who thinks he should be brought back is crazy.

Please your suppose to be a Vol fan .. please go back a page and look at my post. Then please tell me who was better than Fulmer other than Neyland. Coach Fulmer is the 2nd best coach in the history of the Vols. Take out Neyland and Fulmer's Conference Championships and you have won 7 in a hundred years ... HEAR ME 7 ... That's 1 every 14 years!!!!!!

Will you stop saying "and Fulmer?" Take out Neyland's and Doug Dickey's, same result. Take out Neyland's and Majors', worse result.

If you want to count conference championships Majors had 3 in just as many years coaching as Fulmer. He did it with lesser talent. Dickey had 2 in 5 years as coach. While I would put Fulmer in this class you have to consider that he never had to build a program like Dickey or Majors. And I question if he could?

I also think that Fulmer without Cutcliff was a very average coach at UT.

Culcliffe without Fulmer is MUCH worse. Not even close actually. One is a championship coach in the SEC. The other is a decent head coach with a pedestrian record. Both are record setting OC's. Edge Fulmer. Easily.

There's plenty; I was giving you the benefit of the doubt that you seriously didn't believe there aren't plenty of reasons not to rehire Fulmer.

I'm interested in knowing what UT has won in the 2000s then. By all means, educate me. What else matters besides championships? Maybe I'm behind because I didn't read the whole thread.
