Fulmer is still the best name.

He would never take the job. Imagine the headache he'd have catching up on emails. I take a two week paid vacation, I spend the whole first day back in the Inbox. He'd never coach a down catching up after his four year paid vacation.

That sounds about right...a day catching up per every two weeks off.

4 years!

No Way.

If we're going "Back to the Future", go get David Cutcliff. He'll make Bray a winning QB, make our offense consistently good and he knows the tradition of UT. Can't say how the D side of the ball would play but Duke sure looks better.

If Fulmer coached at another SEC School and you looked at his body of work over 17 years in the toughest conference in America, would you not have him at the top of your list.

If UT is broke... then a major audit needs to be taking place as we read these posts! Consider the revenue the football program brings in each year... tickets, parking fees, souvenirs, concessions, logo-licensed products, Television rights, etc... Has to be around 75 to 90 million per year. Even after we pay all the expenses: salaries, event staff, resources, etc, ... we should have a surplus of 10 to 20 million. Where is the hole in the bucket?

Also, remember... if Dooley is bought out, the buyout money does not come out of the budget! It would be paid by "prominent donors" who have pledged to pay the buyout.

Bet you think the same thing about the Federal Gov.

Rehiring Fulmer would be like going back to a girlfriend who screwed your friend. It just wouldn't be the right thing to do.

What is the difference. This program is dead. He would bring life back to it.

And the Sandusky comment is classless and a diss on this University. You are banned from my cooler and grill.

Fulmer certainly wouldn't have done worse than the combined Kiffin/Dooley years, no matter how complacent he was.

Fulmer was a much different, better coach when Cutcliffe was around. Cut instilled discipline in the offense. When he came back in 2006, overnight we went from 2-3 penalties per game for false start, illegal formation, etc to almost none, and Ainge was suddenly a much better player.

Where Fulmer failed was in getting a replacement for Cut. The "Clawfense" sunk us in 2008.

It was too bad for our program, really.

Now the folks that wanted Fulmer gone in 2007 were idjuts, pure and simple, but you couldn't really defend 2008...unfortunately. :cray:
