Fulmer is still the best name.

How did he do during his career?

Why does everyone want to forget he only had 2 losing seasons and never back to back.

Why is it good to hire a coach that is 29-10. Do the math at that pace his record will be 145-50. That's if he stays on pace. In the SEC with 6 teams in the top ten. I doubt he would be able to stay on that pace.

people tend to forget that we have had more losing seasons since he left than the whole time he was here. I kinda miss being pissed about an 8 win season.:cray:

How many rings strong git as a head coach? Same number as fedora, golden, fisher, ect

Well, if we are going by "Rings", then lets hire Gene Stallings, or Lloyd Carr, or Barry Switzer, or Jimmy Johnson. Hell, think Lou Holtz could still give it a go?

Let them keep thinking if Fulmer comes back it will be the 90s all over again.

We are not looking for 98' it's about the future of this program.

Now I did enjoy 98' got to sit in Sun Devil Stadium and watch my Vols handle FSU. Not to mention all the other highlights of that year.

You know after the loss to Fla. in 97' Mannings senior year. A lot of people lost hope. A lot thought that was our best chance at a NC. Peyton was suppose to win the Heisman. Not many if any thought we would win it all with Tee.

They were good times.. but I just want to get back to being competitive again. Fulmer had his ups and downs but we were competitive.

1st post but I have to chime in, Phillip Fulmer. Orange in his blood. 152-52 record. Coach Fulmer may have made some mistake in his last few years as head coach, but I believe he has renewed resolve to lead the UT football program. If given a budget equal to any other new hire, he could assemble an excellent staff and bring stability our program desperately needs. There may be some public opposition, but he is a proven SEC winner. That seems a better option than an unproven SEC hire.

The California mudslide he created with the Tennessee program in his last ten years would lead one to believe he was left behind by the new regime of SEC coaches and his hiring of Clawson would make one think his staff hiring abilities are suspect. Warm thoughts but wake up and smell the coffee. Anyways, welcome aboard the crazy train and post often.
