Could you explain a little or a link that I might be able to read. I know he was having serious issues. I was just called out cause I had the wrong info.

Did not say he would have to. Just making a statement that Fulmer will be in NY the same time Hart will be doing interviews for the job here. Who knows, maybe Fulmer is Hart's plan if he can't get a Gruden/Stoops hire. It would help explain why he has waited to really start talking to coaches until now.

To heck with it...just bring back Fulmer. I'm so tired of all these mercenary hires who have no love for the university. Bring Fulmer back for a few years to rebuild the program and then hire a young guy with much more potential than our current "choices". Maybe Manning will retire and become an OC sometime in the next couple years. This coaching search will be the death of me...

J Wade Gilley (DOOFUS) did some really hinky things at UT just look up his name associated with UT and was replaced.
" J. Wade Gilley's short tenure as University of Tennessee president began with a goal of making the university one of the nation's top public research institutions. It ended amid a flurry of e-mails between him and a smitten protege with questionable credentials."

Petersen and Chancellor Loren Crabtree was also at odds Crabtree wanted control of the Athletic dept at but Petersen wanted contol of the Athletic Dept but have the Chancellor responsible for the education and behavior of student athletes.

The other problem was an AD in Hamilton who would NOT fight for the Athletic Dept except when it came to fundraising.

One instance is under Crabtree UT phased out the Urban Studies which all other SEC and ACC schools have which hurt the Athletic Dept in recruiting and maintaining elgibility.

Sounds like Charlie Strong may be the lead candidate now. Just another reason I would much rather just have Fulmer back. Strong may do well here. He may not. I know his team got abused by Syracuse and lost to UConn. Better than Dooley but hard to get excited about the idea for me. If he is the guy, gotta support him.

How did he do during his career?

Why does everyone want to forget he only had 2 losing seasons and never back to back.

Why is it good to hire a coach that is 29-10. Do the math at that pace his record will be 145-50. That's if he stays on pace. In the SEC with 6 teams in the top ten. I doubt he would be able to stay on that pace.

I am not saying bring Fulmer back but with the AD's office easing the admittance into school he might not be as handcuffed recruiting as he was past 2002. He might not of been as lazy as some think. Would rather have phil with Chaney as his OC and hire someone (Chavis, or someone else as ) as DC. Some of these other names we are hearing scare me to death. There are some names at the same time that I wouldn't mind seeing as well.

More like leaving a steady girlfriend who was boring and we wanted some flash and then when we found out she was two faced, we cuddled with the first ugly girl we found because they would be there for us. Now we realize that we shoulda never left the steady boring girl.
