Fulmer is still the best name.

The California mudslide he created with the Tennessee program in his last ten years would lead one to believe he was left behind by the new regime of SEC coaches and his hiring of Clawson would make one think his staff hiring abilities are suspect. Warm thoughts but wake up and smell the coffee. Anyways, welcome aboard the crazy train and post often.

last 10 years...

1998 NC
2001 1st in the east
2003 tied for 1st in the east
2004 1st in east
2007 1st in east almost won it all.

Terrible I tell you.

Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. No titles of any kind but I guess almost is OK with some folks. Oh yeah, '98 doesn't figure in his last 10 years.

Fulmer- 152-52

Strong- 24-14

I am looking at Strong this year as he does not have alot to evaluate as a HC.

Yes, I do think Phil's 2008 UT squad would beat Charlie's 2012 UL squad.

The same 2008 UT squad that lost to 4-8 UCLA, 5-7 Auburn, and 4-8 Wyoming would beat 10-2 Louisville? Lolz, GTFO.

Fulmer, Chavis, Chaney, Tee Martin, Jay Graham, Pittman, Al Wilson or Inky....take it in a minute over fedora, strong and the likes. If we can go top rung get them, if not bring back a coach that is 2-3 years away from Neyland records.

Absolutely. Fulmer is still a better option than Golden, Fedora, and Butch Davis. He's motivated and I think it would be a quick fix and an opportunity to stabilize UT and get us back to the top.

Might not be the absolute best option but I say you ask the top tier and if its a negetitory then go Phil before falling to the bottom.

Noticed its just the same five or six folks posting in here wanting fulmer back. Move along folks it's never gonna happen nor should it. He did some great things here but he was afraid of hiring a good OC that might over shadow him and it cost him his job. Guess he was a little nervous that a good OC might do to him what he did to Majors.

I think we can agree firing Fulmer was a huge mistake. Because I guarantee the man would have won again, he is a competitive person. We have since then.

1. A talker that can have flashes.
2. A excuse maker.

I am not saying Fulmer should be hired, but if he was I guarantee he would get Chavis and he would be smart enough to bring a up and comer fo offense, "might" keep Chaney and I know he would keep Pitman and Graham and probably Hinshaw. A lot of peope rip Chavis recruiting, but he used to get high school running backs and beef them up as linebackers and it worked. If Fulmer comes back, which I say is as 10 percent chance, I have more faith in him winning. You know what with some motivation he could beat Saban in a few years and we know he can beat Richt. 50, 50 every year on that game.

All that being said are you better off then you were 4 years ago? HN, Fulmer had a bad season, but enough of this bull, we know that 2009 and on would have been winning seasons. 152-52

Do people not realize that one of Fulmer's best friends, the AD of BC, said that Clawson was in the final 2 to become the BC coach? I'm sorry, but I would listen to a close friend when making any hire. Turns out it was horrible and led to Fulmer's ouster that year. Of course in a perfect world, we hire the Michigan OC and get Mallet to transfer.
