I just did and they didn't know who I was talking about.
It's not a problem if they don't know anything about it. Not to mention, a lot of people realize everyone makes mistakes and are forgiving. If they weren't forgiving, Mike Leach wouldn't be up in Washington locking kids in closets. Michael Vick wouldn't be in Philly killing dogs. Kobe wouldn't be roaming from city to city to rape women.
People tend to look the other way if you're good at what you do. Having sex doesn't really affect your ability to be a good coach. Factor in that for most of these kids, it's their goal to go pro. You know what will scare recruits with aspirations to go pro away quicker than a coach that made a mistake by cheating? A coach that sucks. Al Golden tries to be a class act by wearing a tie on the sidelines but who in their right mind would want to play for that guy given his track record? I know I wouldn't if I wanted to go pro.
I'm not saying we should hire Petrino but you're confused if you don't think he could recruit. Look how many families take money from schools and how many kids run into johnny law before their time at college is up. It's not as if all families live their life like Tebow and the majority of college athletes sure as heck don't. At the end of the day, most parents let their kids decide where they want to go given they're going to be adults and spend 4 years. Not every family is going to be judgmental and hold Petrino's personal life against him. He's won 9 or more games in 6 of 8 seasons and won 8 games in a 7th season. If you take away his first year at Arkansas, he's averaging 10 wins a season. I assure you that he'll be able to find 25 kids a year. If he can win at Louisville and Arkansas, he can win at Tennessee and recruits will come.
