Considering Fulmer's piss poor recruiting cost him his job and is ultimately responsible for our downward spiral, he's really not in a position to criticize.
That said, he also told Clay Travis we didn't have enough linemen before we got Barnett, Blair, and Hendrix.
Fulmer Record against
Steve Spurrier....5-8
Urban Meyer. ...0 -3
Les Miles......... ..1-2
Nick Saban........ 1-3
Mark Richt....... .3-4
T. Tuberville.......3-3
13- 23
13-23 is pretty bad.
We currently have 1 projected DT. (There are some DE tweeners that could play DT) but Lambert is the only current true DT committed.. I feel like we could use 1 or 2 more. But other than that, offensive line and defensive like class looks solid.
Fulmer did such a great job recruiting linemen that the year after he was fired, Kiffin had to start walk on linemen. If he had done his job the state of the program would never be in this bad of shape.
Just remember Taj Boyd would have been our QB the last few years as he was committed to Coach Fulmer but Kiffin told him he wouldn't play in his system. All of you with Dimentia seem to forget the glory years we had under Fulmer in the late 90's to early 2000's. I guess a couple of SEC championships and a National Championship aren't good enough for you?? Fulmer built this program to the point of where we were one of, if not the top program in the country from 1998-2002. 151 wins vs. 51 losses speaks for itself. Geez!

And everybody is eternally greatful to Fulmer for that and which is why he has a frickin street named after him. But it was a long dismal slide into the abyss starting with that loss to Saban/LSU in the SECCG in '01. In the '90s, Fulmer only had to contend with Spurrier at UF. But in the 200s, as the SEC filled up with good coaches, they were not only better game day coaches, coaches like Richt and Saban kept their top in-state recruits at home. Spurrier leaving UF and re-emerging at SCar didn't help either because Meyer, another coach far better than Fulmer on game day, replaced SOS, and SOS at SCar began to keep that state's top talent at home. With so may good coaches in the SEC and with Fulmer struggling to get the top OL and DL, 2 positions that are a must in the SEC, and his inability to get a top RB, Fulmer and his teams became very average his last 5-6 years. I respect the guy and what he did for UT in the '90s, but his time had passed.
