If ETSU had allowed the Titans to have their practice facilities in JC, they could have had a situation similar to USF. Paul Stanton was anti-athletics to a degree that would make Jimmy Cheek blush.
He worth his weight in gold?
Ha! But seriously, he has lost a great deal of weight in recent years...a friend of mine met him in Chattanooga and had his picture taken with him at some event. I could barely tell it was him! What he will never lose is his legacy as a champion coach in the CFB hall of fame.
I can't believe what i'm reading here. Why the hell would anybody in their right mind want Fulmer to help ETSU get a football program started. As I recall Fulmers lazy self was the one that pretty much started UT's downfall after winning a NC. After that what did he do????. Absotuley nothing.
Dont forget original....all it was missing was a Krispy Kreme reference. I've said it time and again on vn.....those who resort to calling fulmer petty names dont realize they are worse than Gator and Bammer fans and dont deserve to be UT fans. The guy was not perfect and things can always be done better, but his record, NC, back to back SEC titles (last team to do that...not even mighty Bama has accomplished this on their run), SEC east titles, the fact that he played at UT and gave his entire coaching career to UT SPEAKS FOR ITSELF and no amount of petty name calling from some immature poster who was sucking his mamma's teet during the 90s/early 2000s will ever change that. GBO.
Got named to the Hall of Fame. What are you going to do now Coach Fulmer?
FYP.
Fulmer: "I am going to pick up a dozen hot ones at Krispy Kreme."
I am sorry. You guys makes this too easy.
FTR .. I 100% support CPF going to ETSU. I sincerely think he is the best thing that could happen to get that program up and running. A NC and HOF coach. Phil can give back to the state , help build a good program and add to his legacy.
I think this would be a win- win situation.

You ought to qualify your claims a bit. SEC East titles are not SEC championships, very different. Back to back SEC championships were in another century, a bit dated. Mighty Bama not having accomplished that? How relevant is that when Bama has accomplished far more than two B2B SEC titles. How about their multiple N.C.'s? Far more significant that two SEC titles back to back. How many schools would trade their conference titles for N.C.'s? If you want to embellish what you think PF's record is, use a little logic and common sense reasoning.
I do not get why Tennessee "fans" ridicule him about his weight and downplay and cheapen all his accomplishments. But hey, that's just me.
FYP.

It comes real close. Why on earth would a Tennessee "fan" ridicule their greatest coach?
No, it doesn't. If I say Derek Dooley isn't a very good coach and could have done a lot better, that doesn't make me any less of a fan. Being a Tennessee fan and criticizing a Tennessee coach is one thing. Being a Tennessee fan and actively rooting for East Tennessee State to beat Tennessee makes absolutely no sense.
And by the way, this "greatest coach" horsesh*t has got to stop. No one agrees with you.
