'17 GA ATH DeAngelo Gibbs

But has it worked for the P5 program that you front? :)

I have no idea, and neither do you. Butch may lose a recruiting battle, and instead of moving to the next player on that board, he may focus on a different positional group. I'm sure you'll have another nonsensical retort, but I'm sure no one is going home and sitting in a warm bath with a pint of ice cream and crying. This isn't an indictment on the program or the coach. It's just an observation that I think Gibbs is an important player, and he's not trending to us now.

It's August. When Georgia goes 6-6 and goes to the Dollar General Bowl in December and we are headed to the playoff, let's revisit this recruitment.

Requested "nonsensical retort". Oh well...next. :hi:

That warm bath makes the ice cream melt too fast.

Sounds like you are saying Butch has lost "friends of the program"? Haslams want him gone? Really? Nay....

If Butch has lost the support of the big money donors then he isn't going to be able to recruit like he has in the past. Will just be a matter of time before things start to decline. I had heard that the money was going to start flowing again after the lawsuit was settled.

He has not lost support of the big donors. In addition there is a totally different group of donors that are far less tied to the university in a public way that help handle recruitment items. I can assure you he hasn't lost their support either. I'm behind him 100% and beyond impressed with him as a coach andore importantly as a person. So much so I have upped my level of giving on all levels in the last three years...

That is not what I meant.

Just some thoughts on the subject I meant to post recently, and the subject was kind of in play. I would think everyone is pleased with the direction of the program

I know bag men for Florida and Georgia here in Tampa. These guys have dinner together and brag about players they get to their schools. Georgia brags for sure about Murray and Orson Charles. Florida booster was more pissed about Charles because he drove the kid to Florida for the UT vs Florida game in 2008, gave him $5000 and dined him all night. You guys have hooks in Plant high school for sure.

Of course, both Florida and Georgia are upset with the Clemson boosters down here.

It's interesting that Gibbs will be making it up this weekend as Georgia seems to feel very good about where they are with the Grayson HS defensive back. Gibbs still has plenty of ties to Knoxville and this visit could help swing some momentum, but again, Georgia feels good right now.

When are people going to learn to stop doubting Butch in recruiting? I still believe Gibbs will be a vol. he's visiting this weekend, and a big season ahead of us can sway him.
