I'm the most optimistic Vol fan I know, but even I am confused as to what is going on. Vols have some great players committed, and it is only June and I think they'll end up with Smith, Higgins, hopefully Gibbs, Chandler and several other great players. But I look at our current class, then I look at Georgia's current class and I am really confused. Why does GA have so many great players already committed and getting several more for other 5 stars? Smart hasn't coached a down in his life and TN is on the verge of an SEC title run! It's confusing, but I trust Butch. Have to wait till February

Possibly the same reason Butch could pull it off when he was new to the job at UT. He can sell PT and being "his guy" at QB, RB, or whatever. UGA like UT isn't tough to sell to recruits.

All their commits are from Georgia - extremely talented state. And right now, they can sell the dream - championship caliber team with available playing time. Once the season gets underway, things may change.

UGA doesn't win with big time talent though. Richt couldn't do it so what makes you think Smart can do it when he's never been a head coach? UGA just underachieves every single year and recruits are too blind to see that.

Not terribly hard to figure out. Talent pool. We try to sell staying instate to our 9 instate 4 star recruits. I'm sure Georgia is selling the same pitch to their 30+ 4 star recruits

I'm not saying Smart can do it. He can sell the idea though until proven otherwise. Butch had not won in the SEC when he took over either. We've had recruits buying in and we have not been an SEC power in quite some time. I get why recruits pick a place like UT. But I'm also able to understand why a school like UGA can stockpile the talent as well.

Think about the conversations Warrior and Gibbs have probably had over several months now. I am sure that is why people like GFW have been saying we are in great spot with Gibbs for some time now. Imo, it comes across very obvious knowing he likely follows VN and other Tn and maybe other Tn boards he posts that. He is not going to immediately tweet 'he gone" basically as soon as his other cousin decides to go to Georgia.
