I agree. A lot of these guys could have been picked up in Nov/Dec if other situations didn't work out.

Pretty much ends the convo on how hard Tn was recruiting Reed-

And that's not to knock Butch. College hires in the NFL go in cycles, and the most recent ones, Chip Kelly, Greg Schiano, etc., didn't work out so well. You always hear rumors of an NFL team's interest in Saban or Meyer, but who knows how far those get. Different calibers of coaches too.

One thing I have never understood is why Urban is never held responsible for the situation he left in Florida? Granted there was still talent there but nothing like it was during the Tebow years.

Don't think anyone believed the health scare or wanting to spend time with his family! His players at the end were getting arrested quite often and his won-loss record at the end was not at an elite level. So what does he do, goes to Ohio State where the talent was already there and didn't have to go against the same type of talent as he ran into weekly in the SEC.

Not saying he isn't a good coach, but no one seems to remember his last days at Florida when they are mentioning him in the same breath as Saban. JMO

I can solve that 30th for ya. Don't use Rivals as your main source & stick with 247 Sports composite. They have us 11th nationally which is about where we should be too. Absolutely no way we're 30th by the class we've already signed.

I'm sure Florida was sickened by those 5 top 5 classes. He just didn't want to be there anymore and he nor his family was happy at Florida.

That poster is talking about average star rating which gives a better idea of the caliber/ranking of each recruit committed compared to other schools while eliminating the fact we have more committed than most others. Our average is very low currently. I haven't looked in a few days but last time I looked I think we were around 26th on 247 composite.

But we haven't signed any of them yet.

I never said anything about a conspiracy, just something is going on.

We may have 5 from Tn, but maybe I am wrong but I feel we have the 6-10 ranked players from our state (which they are or can be quality players do not get me wrong), and teams like Clemson are taking our 1-5 ranked players. Add to that we are not getting high 4 star/and 5 star players around country.

Also to those saying an NFL team would not take him after 1 good year, I agree, but I did not say after 1 year he would, just that Larry said he wanted to get to NFL, which does not have to be next year, just in next 3 that could be a problem because if you are coming out of high school you will be in college at least 3 years ( assuming you stay out of trouble of course). Again it may not be that, I do not know what it is. I would just think with the lawsuit now behind us, the program at it's highest expectations, and new dorms etc recruits would be in a line to come here. jmo.

That would be true if Butch was using the recruiting services to do his job for him. Maybe some of those low 3 stars were takes now because Butch wanted them NOW. But don't let that get in the way of your passive aggressive/troll agenda.

I don't believe VQ ever stated they felt Nigel goes anywhere but UT. There was some AU buzz around NSD, but I figured that was to hype his announcement. Even so they never said AU was where they thought he would end up like they have with Gibbs to UGA.

Only a problem for you. Hence the constant carping. Butch can't subscribe to fanciful nice guy recruiting. He has a program to take care of. I'll go with the almost total transformation in athletic talent over NAIA style recruiting.
