'24 GA ATH Kamron Mikell (Colorado commit)

If he can't see that being a WR for UT is an infinitely better spot than being a WR for Colorado, then I don't want him anyway. Who is even going to be throwing passes at Colorado once Deion's son leaves? Deion hasn't shown any ability to recruit a top-level QB. Meanwhile, Heupel is starting to stack them like cords of wood.
I'm just going to revive this post from several weeks back.

Maybe he can figure out how to throw himself the ball on offense, because they ain't gots no more QB's.
.... or any offensive line commitments either. The only one they even appear to be in on right now is Seaton, and he isn't going to sign with Colorado. Deion Sanders has not helped that program as much as some people want to believe.

Yeah right dude. On3 is right all the time lol. Explain why we have been outbid so much then. Just because someone believes something doesn’t make it true.
pot to kettle.

even if Spyre is #1, doesn't mean its perfect. doesn't mean there aren't some other factors in play too. the other recruiting factors still exist, they may not be as high as they were, but they still exist.

and one of Spyre's stated goals is to take care of current players, and they have done a pretty good job of keeping our guys here. Wright was on his way out, I am pretty sure Spyre is the reason he was on the team this year. so all of your big man donations may not be going just for new recruits, if that bothers you you probably need to find a new place for your money.

you brought up Miami getting Francis, but the same Miami lost Cormani Mclain (sp) to Colorado. Georgia also lost out on Mikell to Colorado. Auburn has taken guys from Georgia and Bama. There is no magic bullet out there.

if you want to see Spyre's list of wins you can just go down our commit list and see plenty of big time wins.

Ross was over Florida
Matthews was over Clemson
Bennet was over Michigan
Staley was a Clemson/Miami/UNC
Boo was also Michigan
Merklinger was over UGA, we got him 2 months before Georgia got Raiola.

you just want to focus on the bad and completely ignore anything that could be construed as counter to your completely biased and unsupported stances.

All good points .... We should always remember that not every recruitment is the same. It would be lazy to just assume that every time we miss on a primary target, it must be because we were outbid in an NIL deal. It's not always just about the money.

.... and there is no question that Spyre deserves credit, for keeping our attrition down, at a time when it's not unusual to see starters at major programs transfer.

even when its about the money I doubt it works the same every time.

Some kids may want the most money they can get no matter what.
Some kids may just have a number they want, and then they choose from those willing to give it.
some kids may just want an upfront payday. Others may want it structured over their time at a school.
Others may have a value + mindset. Meaning they want more money from some schools over others. Like taking less from a Bama/UGA because they know its a good program and going to the NFL is a given, but going to a Kentucky they may ask for more money because of the differences.

Playing time
Coaching/specific position coaches
distance from home
chance of winning a championship
education/degree
family ties
non-circular opportunities, what's the point of having a million bucks in starkville?

it could even come down to what types of NIL deals are available or how they are structured. Maybe they want to market with a certain company, or don't. Maybe they only want to do in person "advertising". Maybe they don't like how the NIL is organized/funded. Maybe they just want to make money selling jerseries and don't care about the rest. each one of those could/should influence these decisions.

Many students probably won't get into that fine of detail if they are coming from a rough background; but if they have good support it should at least be talked about to see if they care.

This is one of the best posts I've ever seen here on the topic of NIL. You are exactly right, I wish this could be required reading.

Deion did get 16 transfers. It’s a different approach. Success of it remains to be seen but actually don’t think it’s terrible. Not like Colorado is a traditional recruiting power.
