If the current court case stands, I think you can transfer as many times as you want without sitting out. Of course that could change. Why would he need to be released from an NIL agreement? All he has to do is not live up to the terms of the agreement. That will put him in breach of the contract, and they won't pay him.
The bigger issue is being released from his signed commitment. If Colorado won't release him, then he'd have to use up his transfer.
Generally agree and would not be happy if TN was taking this approach but I think it shouldn’t be written off. It’s different but not necessarily incapable of success. It's a very short-sighted approach. He better see some wins next year or his shtick will become a parody. It will become harder to get the transfer portal guys when your cult of personality has shown cracks, and he will not have a base of high school recruits to build his team around.
His cousin was verbally committed to Colorado but actually signed with Georgia Tech this afternoon. There is speculation that once Mikell signed his commitment to Colorado early this morning that Deion told his cousin to take a hike.If this guy is silly enough to sign with Colorado because his cousin committed to them then good luck.
Chakra is best directed elsewhere.
Wow. So a young man makes a mistake and just all of a sudden he isn’t worth it?
We just need to sit back and wait till the WHOLE truth about his cousin's FINAL decision is out there. He obviously passed the athleticism test for our staff, but I hope we redo our risk/reward analysis to determine our path with him if he is freed up from his CO obligations now, or if we want to sit back to see if he enters the portal, POSSIBLY after refusing to play more than 4 games next year IF it appears he was GROSSLY misled by CO and Prime relents. His cousin was verbally committed to Colorado but actually signed with Georgia Tech this afternoon. i mean really....at some point, doesn't there have to be an acknowledgement that it's the player that CHOSE this path, not us? lol. i think that's kind of telling, when it's all said and done. and no one, i mean no one will be surprised when Dieon moves on and every kid transfers, either to follow him or just to get out from under their current predicament. Why did every other major university finish tied for 2nd for Colorado's only two recruits of worth?
I think Deion will get fired in another 2 or 3 years. He won't have the success that CU thought he would have and his antics will get old and they will move on. Deion will probably go back to a lower level school and have a modicum of success. He may get another P5 job in 10 or so years, but I doubt it. He just isn't really that good of a coach.i mean really....at some point, doesn't there have to be an acknowledgement that it's the player that CHOSE this path, not us? lol. i think that's kind of telling, when it's all said and done. and no one, i mean no one will be surprised when Dieon moves on and every kid transfers, either to follow him or just to get out from under their current predicament.
and at some point, the newness wears off and future prospects will get wise....at least some of them anyway.
it's like watching a car crash in slow motion, and just glad you're not involved in it.
