'19 GA ATH Owen Pappoe (Auburn signee)

Depending on how Johnson plays at C this year and the LB development goes, I'd certainly keep an eye out for a possible offer to Clark if it would mean getting Pappoe. Esp with rumors regarding the transfer of Sapp.

Clark really likes Tennessee and visited with Wanya during the BBQ weekend. Will be an interesting situation to watch this fall.

Offer JC a PWO spot. Guarantee someone leaves next season and he gets the spot. Plus we get OP. 😁
I think it's a pretty good idea minus the guarantee. Want the scholarship to a sec school were a couple of your Hs teammates play *crosses fingers* work harder than the others. Seems to me CJP rewards the hardest workers in practice and gave everyone equal reps so wouldn't be impossible to achieve

We already have 4 OL committed and saving a spot for Wright. I don't see us taking a sixth just to flip Pappoe. We have other needs.

Clark can get a D1 scholarship somewhere. He’s a Top 10 Center in the country. Easily a Group of 5 player, maybe even a lower end P5 player.

Don’t see him taking a PWO at Tennessee.

Maybe not, but is there harm in offering him a PWO spot? All I see is potential benefit.

Prolly not, but wouldnt hurt to try heh. I haven't looked for his offer list and don't know his family's financial situation, but if I were athletic enough and had a couple highschool teamates going to a sec school with a chance to walk-on at said school It would definitely be considered even with some other scholarship offers. That's me tho and everyone is different

Where did you hear that Sapp might transfer? I thought he was the most talented linebacker on the team. Weird.

Clark is a excellent Center and underrated and we need one as Kennedy is out the whole year and Johnson is unproven. He also can play DL. Good size already as a SR at 6'2 and over 300 lbs.

We need lots of help in the trenches. Getting both Clark and Pappoe would help tremendously and worth it.

If getting Pappoe means taking Clark, by all means, do it.

No one is turning down P5 scholarship offers to be a PWO

Auburn’s treatment of Clark apparently rubbed Pappoe the wrong way.

You wanna offer Clark a PWO knowing he can probably get a P5 scholarship elsewhere?

Yes. As far as I'm aware, no other SEC schools are offering him. Sure, he'll get offers from schools in other conferences. If he wants that scholly, he'll take it. Offer him a PWO spot and let him know he has options. Then it'll be his choice to make. Where's the negative? I see none.

Kennedy will be back next season, Johnson will get better with experience, and the way Pruitt trains his OL at multiple spots, I don't see a problem at Center next year. Package deals are never a good option, unless you truly want both players. We have other more important needs than a 6th OL that would be a project.

You make some good points here. But his offer list is really weak. Only 1 SEC offer. Thats troubling. But it has been said on here many times that there are many reasons why a guy doesnt have great offers. Now I know he plays at a powerhouse HS. And it might be beneficial to have a dedicated OC instead of recruiting OG or OT and turning them into a center. So we really dont know how good Clark will be. But having Pappoe, along with JJ, Henry and maybe Henry T (CA) would be an insane LB haul.

The only reason the door is open with Pappoe is because of how he perceives Auburn treated Clark.

Don’t insult Clark further with a PWO offer. Just go after Pappoe straight up.

You wouldn't, but we have no idea what Clark's priorities are. Maybe he takes a chance on his own ability to earn a scholarship. Maybe he wants to play with HS teammates. Who knows? We're not in his head. All I'm saying is make the offer so he knows he has that choice.

You are right It's to much money to turn down a P5 offer. Just saying it would be something I would consider if I were confident in my abilities to earn a scholarship which i wouldn't be because I wasn't blessed athletically and physically like some

It's not an insult, it's an option. Clark can take the free ride to any school that offers, or he can take a chance and try to earn a scholarship to an SEC school. Maybe he doesn't have your ego.

Don’t know Clark’s personal situation, but MOST kids going to public school in the greater Atlanta metro area aren’t in a position to “take a chance” on a scholarship.

Sheesh...

Has nothing to do with ego.

And that may be the case. I still say you offer the PWO spot so he knows he has that choice. No one is saying he'll take it. He'll have options and he'll choose whichever one he wants. And I don't see it as insulting. I'm sure the kid can see our situation.

I think it's a better option than offering him a scholly to try and flip his friend, only to encourage him to transfer later.
