'18 GA ATH Richard Jibunor

Oh I know. I just felt like Raynoch Thompson was being called wrong or stupid for saying safety. They did all mostly play safety on defense in high school opposed to being lifelong LBs. The man knows what he's talking about. Plus Warmachine is usually a decent, correct human being so I'm going to say something in defense there if I think it's right.

:hi:

The kid is a pass rushing DE. The staff is being honest with him. Landing him makes our dline haul more outstanding but does nothing for our OLB needs. Being dishonest with him is just shady. We can't bang on other staffs for recruiting like this and then expect our staff to do the same just to land a kid.

Not yet. Yes, he may grow into a DE, but right now at 6'3.5 and 205 lbs., he is an OLB. This kid plays WR in high school and excels at that position, too. How many DEs play WR, also? Do u consider Adam Anderson a DE? Because I do, he's 6'5 and everybody is recruiting him at OLB. We will just have to wait and see about Jibunor. I bet he ends up playing OLB all the way thru college and in the NFL, also.

Didn't Taylor play WR?

Idk, and I don't care. Richard Jibunor is going to be a superstar OLB, probably for Auburn. Sticky this and I am telling everybody I told u so, when it happens and u guys can tell me how wrong u were and how great I am and how u all will never doubt me again.

Kid has the frame and athleticism to be a star at olb or de. At end he's just going to have an opportunity influence a game more so than at olb. Most teams see his potential at that position, I think auburn does as well if they would be honest with the kid. Tennessee is just telling him up front where they see his potential.

if only he was instate then he would be a QB for sure.

I don't think the staff sees the wiggle and loose hips they'd like to see in an OLB prospect. Great athlete but a little stiff. If he's stiff at 205 then he's not likely to have loose hips at 235-240. Just my observation from watching his film and what this staff looks for.

We don't want to have more than 2 LBs on the roster at one time.

Haha. Seems that way, don't it. Thig is slipping in recruiting and I have never been impressed with his coaching. Thig better step up his game or he could be the next coach to go

From SEC Country:

Auburn is one step closer to landing Richard Jibunor.

The 4-star prospect from Athens Christian (Ga.) released a top 9 on Wednesday that included (in no specific order) Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Louisville and North Carolina. He released the list with a teaser: “Commitment coming soon.”

Jibunor told SEC Country he plans to have a decision before his high school football season starts. With a dead period about to hit, there isn’t much more for the 4-star pass rusher to see before he makes a decision.

The big question: How hard is Alabama recruiting him?

If Alabama is hesitant, Auburn and Tennessee likely hold the edge over the other pursuing programs. In that Auburn-Tennessee battle, I give the Tigers the edge for his relationship with linebackers coach Travis Williams and defensive line coach Rodney Garner.

Jibunor is close with Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt, however, so if the Crimson Tide put on the pressure, it could become and old-fashioned Iron Bowl recruiting battle.

It's believed our staff isn't going after him hard in favor of other DEs. So we would get burned if we strike out with them when we could have had a very good pass rushing prospect

Good to know there are those that are believing we are recruiting DEs incorrectly.

Doesn't matter because there are so many more out there that we haven't even heard about yet.... :)
