'24 GA DL Nasir Smith (Georgia Southern)

Some people lose sight that good coaches help players get better. Expect to see Garners guys play very well this year!!! GBO
I think a big reason the media is worried about the OL is how good our DL really is. Plus some injuries. But the DL is going to be very good this year and it is not being talked about much. DL and LBs being much better will only make the back half look better too.

They're concerned about depth on interior.

The fact this staff has produced 11 wins in their 2nd year on the job and we still have fans questioning their evaluations, is mind boggling.

Good grief.

It’s amazing to me that you don’t think any fan should ever question the coaching staffs abilities. Good grief. No coaching staff is perfect. Even last year when UGA w ent undefeated, I am sure some fans questioned Kirby and his staff.

Why are you like this? Why do you think that because we had a great season and this staff is the best one we have had in a long time, that they are immune to being questioned or criticized?

Dude is the poster child for sunshine pumper. I've never seen anyone get so angry over people having questions about coaches. It's obvious our DL recruiting isn't up to par, but I'm a troll if I suggest it.

He and West could probably play inside but played that SDE spot behind Baron last year. Wouldn't be surprised at all those if that's the route they go. Both are big enough

I think that’s a look you’re going to see a lot anyway even without injury or anything like that…IMO our base will be:

WDE
DT
DT
SDE

But on a regular basis I think we’ll see everyone “shift over” and one DT get replaced with a second WDE

WDE
DT
SDE
WDE

Folks like me tire of the repetitive apparently agenda based negative RHETORICAL questions employed by SOME. Not too thinly veiled either. Most don’t pass the value add test and go the wrong direction on a poster’s trend chart. And yes we know every team has them. Does it really matter if a poster is a troll or a fan with an attitude if the message is the same?

No, it does not matter. Same result.

No. They aren't.

But the reasoning is important. If you don't like a recruit because they're slow, lack energy, lack size, aren't explosive, or whatever then that's fine. But is that the issue or are you just down on this or another recruit because journalists have labeled them 3*?

I wasn't in love with Leacock last year. His highlights just didn't seem to be that great. I know the staff has more info than me so I supported their decision. The recruiting sites seem to have caught up later bumping him to 4*. The staff liked Justin Williams as a recruit. I was pretty excited about landing him. It didn't work out.

Coaches do live and die by their recruiting evals. That is true whether a play is rated 5* or 2*. A coach to a great extent has to see potential over current performance.

I have been against throwing money at recruits. However UT will likely have to throw some pretty big NIL at the portal to re-stock the interior DL. That seems to have been the strategy all along... even through some significant whining here... they would go after HS guys that were over a pretty high bar then fill needs through the portal if they didn't get those "A" level prospects.

Without checking, he was added late when Pruitt was hired. Was a teammate of Jordan Young, the WR that flipped late to FSU. I think they found Garland watching Young’s highlights
