I think Tennessee is still optimistic that Kameryn Fountain will make it back to Knoxville at some point, but no date for a visit has been set, to my knowledge, and it's possible that any possible visit wouldn't happen until later in the season, anyway. He has talked about visiting South Carolina, so it's possible he could visit the Gamecocks at some point, too. But it's hard to say for sure what's going to happen in that one.

At this point, I would say there's a better than 50-50 chance he will eventually visit the Vols again. But it's a fluid situation that will continue to play out this fall, and nothing has been finalized in terms of visit dates.

Recruiting a player doesn't just consist of coming to an official visit. Not saying that officials don't matter. All im saying is there is more to recruiting than an official visit and I don't believe that one game will destroy 2 and 3 years of phone calls and in home visits and everything else that goes in to getting players.

Finally a voice of reason. One game very rarely decides anything in a recruit's mind.
But fans go crazy all the time about that stuff.

I know we'll continue to recruit high school guys, and I know we still have the portal, but I'd be lying if I said missing on high profile targets wasn't a worry. I especially worry about both sides of the line. The OL is already underperforming. We'll lose some key DL after this season that will need to be replaced to maintain the rotation. Games are won and lost in the trenches.

I like the one's we got. But we've really missed on a bunch of big time players, really in both cycles. But as the saying goes, worry about the one's ya got, not the one's ya didnt.

Hope we can find one or two prep DL in this cycle.

Agreed. And two words regardless of recruiting:

Transfer. Portal. Got to become bigger players here or we’ll get left behind. That is, assuming we’re not going to all of a sudden start bringing in bama/uga/osu type classes.

I have faith that we will get exactly who we have to get, and no more. We have to get more aggressive.

Omar Norman-Lott has been a nice pick up, but you're correct. They are going to have to be willing to "overpay" to get the big time, 1st round talent guys out of the portal. I'm not so big on huge money deals for high school recruits, but proven OL, DL, and CBs from the portal....I can get down with that.
