'19 GA LB Jamie Pettway (Missouri signee)

He covered the Slot/RB well, it was the big TE he had problems with. I am guessing that he underestimated his speed. But he's still a young'un yet and fighting off blocks, tackling RBs and sacking QBs is what we need from him anyway.

I thought he did well 2 of the 3 against the TE who looked very good, not sure who he is. And on the first I thought the TE pushed off to get separation. But both were using their hands so doubt that’s called either way in a game.

Lazy recruiting. Letting recruiting services tell you who to sign is a sure way to have lack luster results.

Lost the chemistry and cohesiveness that made his previous team’s great. Chavis was never a dogged recruiter for us but we always seemed to get his type of players in the great years. Been hashed over and over that he’d convert athletes. Big safeties and rb’s to LB’s, bigger LB’s to DE’s et al. Except for just letting generational talent Eric Berry play his natural position, there was a lot of bad guesses towards the end.

Please don't remind us of that fiasco. Dumbest decision, in in my lifetime, of following UT Football. I'm sure we have better evaluators today :loco::loco:

It was a mistake. No doubt. And I think with today's staff we will find a player like him in a small town in Tennessee. But dumbest decision is a bit revisionists. Who else offered him? He was very lightly recruited.

I'm gonna go way out on a limb and say Ole Miss :good!::good!:

To be fair to Fulmer, Patrick Willis played at a tiny school against terrible competetion.
