Dont worry about wheither Friend can coach the OL. Coach Pruitt is ruthless. If Friend cannot coach these guys up, Pruitt will make a change. Pruitt already made a change in both coordinators in his 1st year.
we would have that actually if a couple guys didn't retire and another transfer, and another not have a life threatening condition..... lol.Sam Pittman seems to be the only thing standing in the way of us having an excellent oline. I like Will Friend, but we could have a two deep high 4*-5* OL across the board if he was here. I am so sick of seeing his name.

we're young on the OL. the talent is there, it's just really young. and i don't care who you are, for 95% of incoming college OL, it's a developmental position. you don't take a bunch of true freshmen, i don't care how highly rated they were, and turn them in to an SEC caliber OL in 1/2 an off season.
I posted a few weeks ago that he reminds me of him so much. I have always kind of liked Tech having grown up near Atlanta so I still follow them a little. He is a near clone in the things he does and how he speaks and acts. There's a visual that is hurting to think about lol .. starting to think Geoff Collins at GT is just Butch's little brudder

So you think that if the OL doesn’t improve this year it has nothing to do with coaching?
Why do people believe that one influences the other? I mean I’m sure they like each other and talk but there’s a lot of people that you meet and are cool with but don’t even get considered when making life choices.Been mentioned multiple times this week that they won’t impact each other’s decision regardless
The OL will improve this year a little..tell me, do you think Friend has forgotten how to teach guys how to freakin block suddenly? It's not brain surgery. Friend has a well earned reputation as a good position coach, he didn't just suddenly forget everything he knows..that is some bullisht thinking to me and always has been. The problems this year will be youth and the other items I've already mentioned. It's gonna take longer than a year to wipe that stink off.So you think that if the OL doesn’t improve this year it has nothing to do with coaching?

That has nothing to do with what I said. I'm just saying Sam Pittman has been and is a very big impediment to our immediate success in OL recruiting. Not saying anything about winning, or coaching. He is a thorn.Other programs manage to win NC’s without him as their OL coach. If you can’t win without one guy then you’d find a way to not win WITH him.
Agree. Hell I think even if we have significant improvement we could still have the worst Oline in the SEC. We had probably the worst Oline in P5 football last season.Yes, especially if we're stuck with two true frosh as the OTs. That said, I think there will be improvement this year, but it's not going to be the night/day improvement that fans want.
I still don't think the fans whining about Friend understand the dumpster fire of a program that Pruitt and staff inherited. The OL struggles are just a microcosm of what needs to be fixed--and it's going to take a few more years to get there.
No...I'm just not stupid. Its just like I told you guys Bob Shoop didn't suddenly forget how to coordinate a defense when he got here. When you eliminate the impossible, whatever is left, no matter how improbable it is to you..is the truth..In this case Botch recruited potato sacks, and then didn't train them on top of that. The few guys we did get that showed the ability to overcome the Botch effect...like Trey or Jack Jones etc..got injured...leaving potato sacks and kids just outta HS.You’re anry this morning
I know all that. The problem is the idjits who don't.we would have that actually if a couple guys didn't retire and another transfer, and another not have a life threatening condition..... lol.

He’s a great recruiter. We have to recruit against him. He wanted Wright badly. Things happened. That has nothing to do with what I said.
