yep. i think most coaches and analysts/scouts out there probably agree on the top tier type players, that have plenty of exposure in camps etc.....

when you get down in the middle, less heralded guys that may not get to big camps, coaches have to rely on their evaluations, period.

that's why lower rated guys get bumps when they get certain offers or go to certain campuses to camp, and finally get a little more exposure, after going seemingly unnoticed........

I honestly didn’t know who he was until early June. He didn’t get out on the camp circuit until the team camps started. That’s when I started hearing about him.

He will be a mid three-star (5.6rr) when we update rankings again in mid August.

He’s a tough one to evaluate because he plays a lot of nose guard for his team. I will see him practice in August though, that’s my plan, so I will have a better feel for him a month from now.

What I like is his energy and his strength. He appears to move well and he is a disruptive player at his position in high school.

As soon as I know more about him, you will know it. He’s only a 5.5rr now because we couldn’t make him a 5.6rr mid stream because it would cause issues with position rankings.

Just wanted to relay what I know about Harrison at this time.

If those are legit numbers then this kid is on his way to being an almost Vernon Davis level freak. Stand up edge rusher with a lot of power and bad attitude like a James Harrison is what i get from him.

I thought the same. Keep hearing he projects as an edge rusher but his measurables indicate he could fit all four backer positions

To the people bashing this commitment...all his film is him playing out of position. He camped and earned offers from not only our coaches but from the Michigan State coaches (who have a tendency to mine diamonds on a regular basis). And if anything, you could do a lot worse than filling out the remaining spots in a class by taking 3-Stars with elite measurables.

Also, if you go back to the first page of this thread and watch the video of his vertical, first of all it's extremely impressive, but also he appears to have very long arms which is ideal as an edge rusher.

Kirby's highschool. Plays in a Ga HS region that was once a major power in the state, but has fallen on hard times.

At a bigger school, like Valdosta, Colquitt County or Lowndes he's playing the edge or LB.
