'19 GA OLB Roman Harrison (Tennessee signee)

I mentioned the NT was a big body at a vital spot. I haven’t dogged this commitment, just not feeling a need to defend it. Coaches know what their types look and play like. And I never uttered “striking out”.

No you didn't.
But Hillbilly sure slammed the point home and you quoted him and just put a period.

Usually that means someone agrees completely, guess I misunderstood.

No...I misread something in his post and posted an “a-ha!” that fizzled. Can’t delete our posts so I fired into the air.

Not sure about taking this player so early....

same mistake Butch would have made. I know y'all wont want to hear it but, Butch took guys too early. Course Butch wasnt a coach.

I'd be worried if Pruitts forte was not defense, but his forte is exactly that defense. So I think we are okay here.

A look at Harrison’s film shows just how good of a football player he can be. He has the perfect combination of power and finesse, and he uses it wonderfully to defeat blockers. He changes direction swiftly and is a sure tackler. He has a wide variety of pass rushing moves, and he does a good job of switching them up to keep the opposition off guard. He is physically very gifted, but also very technically sound. It is very clear that he is playing out of position in high school. In college he projects as a hybrid, edge type defender. If used properly, he has the potential to become a breakout star. Tennessee may have been one of the first schools to realize this, but many others are going to catch on soon, especially now that he’s committed to the Vols. His recruitment could really blow up during his senior season.

IIRC, Sutton was a 3* as was Dan Williams. IMHO, UT has had more success with "diamonds in the rough" than getting 5* players who were actual 5* players. This kid looks like a really good athlete for his size.

Another test for Pruitt. If he's the right guy then he'll find and develop guys like this.

Good point here. Our success rate with 5*s is not great over the last ten years or so.

I’m not worried about this take at all. Pruitt’s track record speaks for itself.

Even in our best recruiting classes, about half of our signees are usually 3 stars. They aren’t all going to be kids that Bama and UGA are after.

I get that, but according to Pruitt himself, we better be going after the same exact players that UGA and Bama are going after.
