Wrong. Bailey grew up a Florida fan and ended up at Tennessee. Trevor Lawrence grew up a Tennessee fan and ended up at Clemson.

Ive seen where people say Butch told Lawrence he wasn't a good fit for UT. I wonder how true that is i cant imagine any coach telling a player of his caliber he's not a good fit.

Isn't Lawrence faster than JG? Hard to understand how a Butch Jones could rise to be a Head Coach at a place like Tennessee.

I also remember hearing i believe it was Deshawn Watson if memory serves me right was ran off in favor of Sims by Kiffin. How much truth is there who knows. But if thats the case Clemson should write us a check for gift wrapping them two Elite Qb's.

I thought I saw something a couple of years ago that said Lawrence and another QB were at a camp together and Butch texted them the exact same text which turned Lawrence off. Can someone confirm?

Mark Richt had a similar situation with Eric Berry. Had his stats and notes wrote on his hand when meeting him on his visit. Didn't make Eric feel really prioritized.

He shifted his focus to Emory Jones and told Lawrence to look elsewhere.

Kiffin did it with that QB that went to Clemson to start their run. Not as good as Lawrence but it was a head scratcher. Boys maybe?

I have always thought that ran as something someone made up. I imagine what happened is that Lawrence visited his dream school and was quickly confronted with the fact that the coaching staff was a complete and hopeless cluster. Lawrence is no dummy. He made another choice.

This is my guess too. I seriously doubt they didn't want Lawrence badly.

Also, Tennessee never really focused on Emory Jones. Justin Fields was in play for awhile. Tennessee led at one point.
