I heard a brief couple of minutes of the 3HL show on 104.5 the zone yesterday and, someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but as I got in the car I thought I heard Brent and Dawn discussing Jesse may be headed to work for Auburn soon.

I used to think folks overreacted to Simonton mostly because he would talk politics on Twitter...which I don't think is a big deal. It's been pretty obvious the last few months that he tries to put a little negative spin towards Tennessee in the things he reports/says and it's getting worse the better Pruitt recruits. His comment on landing Salter was that Tennessee finally got their QB after missing on a few others. What was the point of saying that other than to be petty because you actually hate UT? I don't blame VQ subscribers for being tired of that guy.

Rusty is showing up with the bags and Simonton is just a negative Nancy... recruits don’t get deterred by some talking heads but they do get excited for money (like anyone really). With the new rules coming this new decade of recruits wants to not only win and play for great coaches, but also be able to brand themselves and make money. Smael is a perfect example since he’s stated he wants to have his own brand of clothing. These athletes will be full blown entrepreneurs before they even have a shot at the pros.

They don’t care about some small time sports writer.

You're right. He has gotten worse the better we have done. You'd think he would be happy to be covering all the greats players.

Unless they are hearing negative things from other schools, national media, etc. then the schools own media backs it up. That certainly doesn't help. We've been fighting bad publicity for a long time. That is changing though, and he does not like it.
