'21 GA OT Amarius Mims (Georgia commit)

We're not gonna land kids like this until we beat UGA. Yet we're not going to beat UGA until we land kids like this. Seems like a viscous cycle doesn't it? However if more people around this program were more serious about winning, we could land any kid in the country. You all know what I'm talking about, people need to understand one basic philosophy. GOTTA SPEND MONEY TO MAKE MONEY.

That is all. We should be tripling the amount UGA, Auburn, Bama or whoever offers anyone we want. That speaks. If it's an equal offer, no **** they're most likely not going to come here.

I’d like to know how Jeremy Pruitt feels about the state of the program. He hasn’t beaten UGA, FLA, or AL since he’s been here. Although, he did beat Miss St. and Auburn.

Three years removed from 0-8 in the SEC and these clowns are complaining about not beating the top 3 teams in the league (two of which are perennial national Top 10 teams).

This all day

Tennessee's last 4 recruiting classes on the 247 composite were ranked:

17, 21, 13, and 10

Georgia's were ranked:

3, 1, 2 and 1.

That comports with what I saw Saturday. We are beating people we should beat and our recruiting has improved every year under Coach Pruitt but we are not there yet when it comes to competing consistently with the best teams in college football.

I was speaking to the Oline specifically. We've got some studs, they just got manhandled.

True, but they were playing studs too, studs who have played together more than one season. Our group is still trying to coalesce. Covid screwed us on the OL and at QB. UGA's defense returned more or less intact from last year, when they were one of the nation's best. In retrospect, we should have seen it coming.

Pruitt is going to have plenty of time to get this straightened out. The sky isn’t falling. He isn’t going to be fired.

Does he need to win big games soon? Absolutely. But he’s still learning on the job. I’m not saying he will become Dabo, but there are plenty of examples of new head coaches taking 4-5 years to figure it out.

Personally, I think getting slaughtered on Saturday might cost us with guys like Green, Mims, TID, and Mondon in this cycle. But Pruitt is going to have plenty of chances in the future to get those big wins he needs, especially if our QB recruiting continues its current trajectory.

In 2 years, we’re likely going to have Bailey, Salter, and Simpson on our depth chart which is a far cry from where we are now.

Also the majority of our most talented guys are just young. Mainly freshmen and sophomores. We'll get better. Just have to make sure we get solid QB play from whomever has the job.

If that were ONLY the case, Jimbo Fisher would be winning national championships left and right at TAMU lol

Yup, UGA needs tackles. Have fun.

I mean, kids SAY they want immediate playing time, but I'm sure the allure of immediate contention for SEC championships and playoff appearances is stronger than that. I can't say I blame Mims for making the decision he is.

He knows he's got the build of a first-round draft pick even if he just plays 2 years as a starter. I'm sure he's more focused on trying to make the playoffs, which if we're being honest with ourselves Georgia is clearly in a better position than us there.

Mims will play year one at Georgia. He is ready to contribute this year tbh.
