'21 GA OT Amarius Mims (Georgia commit)

Pruitt is going to have plenty of time to get this straightened out. The sky isn’t falling. He isn’t going to be fired.

Does he need to win big games soon? Absolutely. But he’s still learning on the job. I’m not saying he will become Dabo, but there are plenty of examples of new head coaches taking 4-5 years to figure it out.

Personally, I think getting slaughtered on Saturday might cost us with guys like Green, Mims, TID, and Mondon in this cycle. But Pruitt is going to have plenty of chances in the future to get those big wins he needs, especially if our QB recruiting continues its current trajectory.

In 2 years, we’re likely going to have Bailey, Salter, and Simpson on our depth chart which is a far cry from where we are now.

Losses to GA St and BYU adjusted the timeline on a rebuild. A bad game against an elite team is okay in year three. A bad game against a mediocre SEC team isn't. 6-7 wins means we're making solid progress IMO. Not sure Pruitt ever puts us in the elite tier, but I think he'll give a solid foundation. Compare that to our previous hires.

Doesn’t he usually disappear before a recruit commits to another school? Because recruiting is fluid you know.
Then what do you know? What information do you have to bring, Mr Insider? He doesn’t have to live on this message board like half of you all do

Name 3 this century other than Dabo who struggled early who became great. Dabo won 9 games his first full season, struggled 2nd season, then it was 10+ after that. Not saying Pruitt can’t right the ship but the Dabo card is overplayed as he is the only one, and he only had one sub500 season at 6-7.

when the going gets tough, give up.

It was always going to be a tough haul. The outcome of the game may end up being the deciding factor, maybe not. We may be able to flip him before signing day maybe not. Hell he might even commit to the good guys.

When was the last time the was an atl sighting?

Last week when he loved where we were sitting. Was hoping he would at least give update. Maybe he is ‘meeting’ with the Mims family today to change his mind. He said he talks with them.

People who don't understand the recruiting game misinterpret what he is telling us IMO. When he says he likes where we are sitting he means the recruit and and his family are receptive.

From his point of view you have to be optimistic, you can't be skeptical because that comes through and sours the relationship and this is all based on relationships. As long as you are giving the recruit something to think about you're in a good spot. You know when the relationship changes and that's what this game is all about.

When he's wrong he owns it, and done his best to explain what he thinks happened. He gets played sometimes but if you are a part of the recruiting game that's going to happen, you just hope the other guy gets played.

People need to cut him a break, he doesn't have to be here or do this for us. Just because we don't like the outcome people attempt to call him out, it's senseless really.

I'm just saying. More people are starting to get serious about this program, but I have this sneaking suspicion a lot of people need to still get on board. There's no reason for UT to take a back seat to UGA of all programs.
none.

I mean, I wholeheartedly believe that if this Tennessee team was in the ACC this year we'd easily pump out a 9-10 win season (pre-Covid). Yeah Dabo won 10+ quickly, but just compare the relative competition and divisions. Tennessee is playing 4 Top-10 teams this year in a 10 game schedule.

And you want 3 other coaches this century to be named that had a rough first few years? Well for starters, Nick Saban. First time head coach Michigan State 1995-1999. Season 1 (6-5-1), Season 2 (6-6), Season 3 (7-5).

I'm sure I could easily find 2 more if I spent more time doing a basic google search.
