'21 GA OT Amarius Mims (Georgia commit)

I’d like to know how Jeremy Pruitt feels about the state of the program. He hasn’t beaten UGA, FLA, or AL since he’s been here. Although, he did beat Miss St. and Auburn.

How do you imagine he feels?..... 🙄

He's a guy that's risen quickly and has had near zero setbacks (2 years at uga the longest drought without being a part of a title). I think he is very used to winning and sometimes I wonder if he overestimates his own teams because of that. He is used to handling 1 position or side of the ball and at fsu and bama the other parts took care of themselves and then some. Now he's without those talent advantages across the board.

Overall, I'd guess he is disappointed it isn't moving faster. His expectations are as high as anyone. He'll never tout 8 wins and 3 straight bowl games. He's as tired of losing as fans are and that will endear him a good long while here imo. He'll do whatever it takes.

TN always is top 10 classes tho, even Doolittle who didn’t couldn’t recruit a hooker had a top 10. We need top 5 like Fulmer brought year after year.

Dooley also had a class where he brought in zero OL.

Dooley had some skill players that had the talent to get us to a couple 10 win seasons but I get the impression he never had the locker room or control of the program considering some of the guys thought certain bowls were beneath them.

Butch had the talent to get there. But Butch also operated with a lot of smoke and mirrors and his act grew old on the fan base, but more importantly on the locker room. Even if he had gotten us there I just don’t see him knowing what to do when there.

Pruitt is a player’s coach and has the locker room. He also has the pedigree from his assistant coaching days. The team attitude is good and the players at least seem to work hard and care about the mission and the program.

It takes more than just talent. Coaching does matter. Buy-in matters. With our current recruiting and locker room makeup, if we can find the QB then we can have a couple 10 win seasons and not have games where we get blown out. It won’t be easy and it won’t look like Bama or Clemson but those will lead to even better recruiting classes. The classes needed to start competing for championships.

Right now and in our immediate future, we need to find the QB. This is where I’m putting the whole world on Bailey’s shoulders. Reports that he was looking good and coming along quickly once he was finally able to get snaps in practice. My hope (and guess) is that he wins the job going into next season.

I think Trey was off balance because he got is feet tangled by a blocker next or behind him if you look closely. I wish I could slow down the video.
Unfortunately it wasn't a one time thing, 99 and 95 for UGA were killing us inside the whole game. We were never going to get lateral with all that speed them have, but I was really disappointed we couldn't run behind Trey and Cade (when he played guard, he was a disaster at tackle).

Our oline got bullied the whole game, got their asses kicked. Those ass kickings will continue until we land more elite players or players are better developed. I just wish we could have one breakout player come out of nowhere and dominate every once in awhile like these other teams seem to have.
Need to beat one of bama or Florida this year finally. Losing to three rivals every year is embarrassing, especially when we are blown out like the past infinite years minus a few shockers.
what are we, like 3-27 against those guys the last 10 years.

Just one play. That was my point, every guy has a bad game, Morris is still very talented and will play on Sunday’s. Mays took the big L Saturday, he gave up 3 sacks and 3 penalties by himself,
Pretty sure you can find a play somewhere in that game that Trey knocked somebody on their ass...it happens.

Mays being rusty and Kennedy being Kennedy, Wright and Morris being young guys who got less than half a camp, and our TEs blocking for isht, and most of all that freaky line shifting crap that nobody seemed to know was coming all doomed us to that performance.

Wright and Morris are only going to get better...nobody shows the plays where they wreck fools. They make mistakes.

He is doing it the right way...and on most things he seems to try and learn from mistakes...that is a valuable commodity to have.

I also think Kirby having a great defense and having a pretty good idea about what JC was going to do since he worked for him was a very big problem in that game.

They knew our count better than we did..

We have elite players - its a bunch of 4 and 5 stars. Thats the frustrating part - it has to be coaching, the talent is there.

Tennessee's last 4 recruiting classes on the 247 composite were ranked:

17, 21, 13, and 10

Georgia's were ranked:

3, 1, 2 and 1.

That comports with what I saw Saturday. We are beating people we should beat and our recruiting has improved every year under Coach Pruitt but we are not there yet when it comes to competing consistently with the best teams in college football.

It was always dawgs. We simply do not win these kind of recruiting battles. We have won out on some big fish but when there’s late drama between us and UGA the kids go with who wins. Plain and simple.

You all are silly if y’all don’t see the improvement... Butch Jones would’ve lost 50-0 to this UGA team we were up at half... we have to get better at sustaining to win these big ones but we are getting close it’s good for us to get beat the 2nd half like that it shows the players what they gotta do to really improve... and if it’s one thing we know with Pruitt is that they are going to work hard and improve no matter what I love the culture and character he is building... we will be elite under Pruitt... good luck to mims I hope we get him if not oh well we still headed in the right direction
