It happens very often. I think for where the program stands (the current trajectory looks a bit promising) after years of being at best mediocre and at worst awful . . . We will win very few of these battles when UGA / Bama come calling . . . As well as other recently successful schools.

Plus there is now the highest bidder NIL factor.

Only the player knows . . . But I would think if UGA wants him . . . He goes to UGA (in state school / much better shape than UT right now).

Yep. What is going to be fun is when/if a TJ wins a QB battle against a NL and starts in a few year. One is getting 2 mi a year and the other 80 thousand for the same blood, sweat, and tears. I can see NIL blowing a team apart if it isn’t handled correctly.

There is no single way that TJ is even in the same stratosphere with NI. The talent levels are not even close. Tayven doesnt have the zip or placement of Nico absolutely crazy talk. Unless Nico gets hurt or just doesnt show up he likely starts day 1. That is how talented he is. Sure they will say the right things about a battle etc. They know who #1 is now.

Idk I think Nico is plenty talented to start day one. I think Heupel holds him back until he’s physically ready though. If that’s year one then so be it, I’m not worried about the talent I’m worried about his physical frame being able to take a huge hit. I’d rather have a healthy filled out Nico with all the pieces for pass protection in place and him making decisions quickly and seamlessly than to rush him. I don’t disagree with anything else you said, kid is special.

A little premature after what we watched last fall. Physically, Milton is probably one of the best QB's in the country. Is there a better arm?

I hope Nico is worth every dime of whatever his NIL is. Unlike many, I suspect that there is some language that makes his money contingent on his "market value"... which ties to him becoming the starter. So if he doesn't start then the money could be threatened... and he could still be in the portal.

I wouldn't consider that the "likely scenario"... but it is possible.

Maybe more likely is that TJ develops but NI wins the job. NI then gets injured and TJ shows out. Then you have a MAJOR dilemma.

You are probably correct on that breakdown on their talent. That was just because I know those two will battle for a starting position at some point. It could be two line backers or Running backs. The point I was attempting to make is someone will beat out a higher rated player that makes a lot more. There will be jealousy in locker rooms, especially with parents envolved.

I agree it will happen and probably soon... I am of the opinion some 5 stars really want it. Some are lazy and typically bust. So yes i would rather have borderline 4 stars that are hungry and want to prove themselves vs bigtime kids with attitudes and entitled. Some guys just out work others no matter the talent. Lot of 3 star guys drafted every year.

Don’t sleep on TJ he silky smooth too and is a winner and will have a year head start in college… I believe in Nico as well but it’s something bout a hungry talented under dog that I love too… hope the competition is fair and may the best man win.

People have talked that he has the highest ceiling, but not necessarily the most day 1 ready.

I wouldn't sleep on TJ either.

Either could be fantastic. Or Milton in his final season has it all click.

We're at least in position where he doesn't have to play right away...that's big

Ideally, the light comes on for Milton. If it does, you have a weapon in this offense like we’ve never seen…a QB who can get the ball into the smallest of windows anywhere on the field due to his ridiculous arm. If we have that, with the playmakers Heup is bringing in, this offense will be scary. Then, the following year, you have Nico after a year of development with all he brings physically…you’re just rolling with a dynasty, at least on offense.

I would not count out Tayven Jackson. Everybody is super impressed with him. Honestly for the future my money is on him, but Nico has huge potential as well. It’ll be an interesting battle!
