'20 GA QB Harrison Bailey (UT SIGNEE)

Deshaun Watson has great mobility yet he got sacked the most out of any QB in the league last year.
There is a lot that factors into that.

A. The Texans oline is GARBAGE.
B. There were a lot of times he escaped the pocket when he shouldn’t have out of fear of being sacked. It’s irony because it resulted in a sack a lot but that’s a result of a bad oline as well.
C. He doesn’t have a good feel for the pocket collapsing. Deshaun is a great QB but he is at his best in rollouts or off-the-cuff creations plays when stuff breaks down.
D. He holds the ball way too long at times.

Proof that every fan base thinks “their” guys are ranked too low. You can find similar threads on every site but no one does it quite like the Gators do it,highly recommend reading till the end, that board is 100 entertainment.
Tre’Vez Johnson ranking question
I can almost be fine with 247’s ranking of him.

Why the hell even participate at rivals camps if you win the MVP at all of them and still drop? Where’s the incentive?

That's the question. Little known recruits need the exposure but the truth about the guys already heavily recruited.., Rivals needs them way more than they need Rivals.

A lesson they may learn 1 day.

You just described Dak Prescott. Sure you’re not confused? Jk 😂

To be fair, I don’t think the next update for either Rivals or 247 will be till after the Opening??? That would make sense.

Last yr it was supposed to happen in Feb. so EEs never got updated. Although I did notice the higher ranking qbs moved one way or the other after the opening. So who knows

If he bases it on pro potential, why is he love with DT QBs? They have some NFL value, but only a fraction of the value it has in college. You'd think he'd prefer pocket guys if he is projecting to the nfl. jmo
It’s not just him. The entire system is based on pro potential. That is why 247 does 32 5 stars because there are 32 first rounders. I agree about the DT-QB. They are much more valuable in college than the NFL. It’s a perplexing system.

I didn’t say Bailey didn’t drop, you showed one recruit, fact is more TN commits went up, than down. Some went up tremendously. Every teams fan believes ‘ESPN hates, Rivals/247 hates us, etc’ TN gained more spots than it lost I assure you. Yes, the Bama bump is real (they’ve admitted it), so is the SEC bump. Do they get automatic bumps? Sometimes, but at minimum, the recruiting services go back and studies X prospects film if the commit to a SEC school. Why? Bc the SEC puts the most players in the NFL and has earned their rep as talent evaluators.
signing day for the last recruiting class ('19) UT players dropped something like a net 50 spots. we were the only school in the Top 20 to have a net drop. and yeah thats with some getting crazy bumps. there was a thread on it.

most of those huge jumps are them literally just getting a placeholder or going from a place holder to a "real" eval. after that they are more likely to drop.

As of this morning HB was 7th on the elite 11 official list. I was told he just finished the re zone portion of 7v7 and they scored him out wit 8 tds and no incompletions or pass deflections. With 3 dropped TDs (which are scored if make the right pass and it is dropped) or not QBs fault. So say he scored 100% by elite 11 scoring

I’m done with all of this camp crap! I want my guys that are going to Tennessee to excel in 11 on 11 with pads on. Could care less anymore about the seven on seven shorts and T-shirt stuff. This is why there are T-shirt and paper champions. Our head coach has a proven track record that he knows what a football player looks like… I will roll with him.

Hmmmm. End King thread

Which one? The one without Frederick?
With Frederick it was better. No doubt. But the cowboys o line problems early last year stemmed from having no threats at WR and Daks tendencies to check down rather than go deep. They loaded the box to defend the checkdowns and plug holes in the run game. There was simply too many to block. Once they got Amari everything seemed to change and everything opened up. Which is why I’ve been quoted saying (in other threads) “The offensive problems may not be on JG OR the o line. It could be a lack of speed at WR.” UT looks a lot like the Cowboys early 2018 and I see the same problems. The loss of Dez proved to be a bigger issue than the loss of Frederick as evidenced by the winning streak they went on as a result of their signing Cooper.

Playcalling with Linehan can’t be discounted. He had a pattern with Minnesota and it played out with Dallas.

I gotta go with you on that one. I hated Linehan. I’ve been a Cowboy fan my entire life and him having his hand in getting rid of Dez showed me how ignorant he was to the way this team is built. I’m still looking for ONE person to say the 90s Cowboys (although a running team) would’ve been the dynasty they were with Michael Irvin.
