'20 GA QB Harrison Bailey (UT SIGNEE)

Agreed. Don’t really need to be mobile if you can navigate the pocket, get rid of the ball, and avoid sacks.
Most devastating single season pass rushing team of all time...85 Bears...had the book written on how to beat them by the statue on their schedule, Dan Marino. Pocket awareness, accuracy and quick release dealt them their only loss. They played Steve Young’s Bucs twice that season.

Dude, you keep saying you did not mean one thing and then another that you said. The purpose of your post appeared to be your own superior appraisal of a qb recruit's impact on our program, vis-a-vi an asserted over exuberance of most folks, but I'm not seeing either. I think Bailey shows high levels of talent, and I look forward to seeing him play on what we hope becomes a good team. But SEC football is no joke. It's trial by fire, which tests everyone to their limits.
And I’m not “superior” to anyone. Every single one of these post are based on someone’s opinion. If you read the original comment you must have read that he was asking the OPINION of ANYONE that has actually seen the kid play. Some people’s need for argument is the only thing I see that’s “superior” over enjoying an adult debate.

The last time I got excited about a highly accurate practice passer(some guy from Texas) he just did not perform well in games and transfered after losing the starting job. People who watch Bailey, which I haven't, claim that his light comes on during games, that he is a game day player, not a practice king. We'll just have to wait and see. A big concern is building a boss OLine. That has to happen to win big games.

I wouldn’t know. I haven’t watched him in practice. I’ve only seen games. He’s a legit qb and even the most legit qbs at any level have weaknesses they can improve on.

Peep are going to start ripping me for laboring the obvious, but I cannot help yammering concerns about the OLine.

That’s one of the issues I was referring to that could have an effect in his drop with 247. Not his fault but UT isn’t built for a lack of mobility YET.

That occurred to me also. I do not know what we should expect from the OLine this year. I want to think it will be stronger and better coached, with a little more depth. When I see peep saying it should be a little better, I feel bad, because I never want to see it a little better than it's been. Pruitt and Friend have to get it fixed PDQ.

I think there will be SLIGHT improvement. Wanya got man handled in the spring game and Darnell is a few months behind in S&C but the 2 of them imo were definitely #1 and #2 tackles in the nation at The Opening last year from what I seen live. Can’t remember a time either of them got beat. As for the drop of HB I truly believe that’s one major reason.

Well if there is any backlash it should be how you spell Marietta.

If you want the one knock on him it would be the injuries his Freshman and Sophomore year in high school.
I have watched him in person and watched other games on tv....the kid can make all of the throws.
Will he stand in the pocket and take a hit? Of course he will and he gets right back up and does not back down or show an ounce of fear the next snap or series. Watching 7a football the last 4 years in Gwinnett County, this kid was the best qb i saw on the field.
That is roughly 50 plus games counting all of the playoff games.

I said I watched him responding to, I believe volgrad, asking for someone to give an opinion. That’s my opinion without detail. I’ll say A LOT of us have extremely high expectations that he may not be able to meet

Thanks guys I appreciate it.

Its still BS. Bailey throws the ball as good as any QB in this class. Plays against tough competition and was very impressive at both the elite 11 and the 5* challenge. Them saying he isnt very mobile is a ridiculous reason to continue to drop him.

THIS! All of this is all I really meant. I don't know anyone down here in GA that badmouths the kid. It's just that he never comes up until I bring him up when discussing big time prospects. I'm just wondering why someone who seems to me (having only watched highlights, looked at rankings, and read our board) to have all the tools is not more highly thought of. I hear "lack of mobility" form people who have never really seen the kid play, but it's not like he is a statue.
