'20 GA QB Harrison Bailey (UT SIGNEE)

If this season becomes a full-blown train wreck, I won’t be surprised to see Bailey consider other options, but I’d be surprised to see him jump ship only to sign on with a program who is in possibly a bigger rebuild than we are, in Ga Tech. He has to have so many better options.

Good grief. Can we let the season play out before we create a completely random narrative predicated on anxiety? None of us really have a clue.

Honestly if a kid doesnt want the pressure of being the guy to right the ship then, so be it. He doesnt strike me as the type of kid that changed their mind.

You guys act like we were good before. These kids were committed to us at 4-8, we sucked. And we still suck, acc to game 1.

We'll be fine here.

I wouldn't be surprised if that happens because Geoff Collins and his staff have got good things going on at GT that will get better in the future. I talked to a Georgia Tech fan and told him that Geoff Collins reminded me of Butch Jones in 2013 quite a bit LOL

Georgia Tech's players fought like dogs against Clemson despite being hopelessly overmatched. It's going to be a long rebuild there and they may not win 2-3 games but at least Collins had them playing hard.

Referencing my post as an overreaction with an even bigger overreaction of your own is kinda silly. Reread the first 8 words of my post and insert some perspective in relation to the topic of the last couple pages.

You can cut out the profiling with phrases like “You guys act like...”. I’m not acting like anything. I’m fully aware we have sucked going on 15 years, and finished 5-7, last year. My post was a response to the people who already assume Bailey is gone. I wasn’t agreeing with them. Rather, I was laying out a scenario where I could see him taking a second look, and made sure to preface it with the word, “IF”, at the very beginning.

No way HB would sign with GT if he left us.

That seems like an odd position to hold for participating on a message board, but whatever.

Long story short, your opinion is more in line with mine than you must have originally realized.

HB is 100% Vol right? I mean, I wouldn't put anything past our rivals trying to flip him. Somebody put me at ease.........

In my opinion Harrison is the most committed to TN out of all of our recruits. If we lose him, he won’t be the only one. I personally think he signs with us as long as we don’t have a truly disastrous season. I think Pruitt and this team will get it figured out.

Someone says - “Maurer is our best option over JG because he threw for 3400 yards and rushed for another 500 as a senior.”

Multiple responses- “ HS stats mean jack crap. This is the SEC.”

Funny how that rule doesn’t apply on the Harrison Bailey thread. “He’ll start day one” as if we know he’s better coming out of Hs than what we have due to Hs stats. #hypocritical

I agree with JTS but Maurer completed 70% of his passes and they weren’t check downs.
Also threw 1 or 2 picks. I can't remember if Maurer or Shrout threw the 2nd. I think Maurer will be the better of the two but they are not on an elite level. That doesn't mean they won't end up there. Maurer showed a lot of potential. At this moment though IN MY OPINION I don't think he's there.

Shrout threw no picks. Maurer threw 2. Shrout was very efficient. Maurer was good at moving the ball with his legs.

Idk what any of them can do in game but I’d like to see Shrout get some action in game this year.

I get it. He made a freshman mistake coming out of the half but it can be argued that The second int was shared between himself and Keyton. He’s a gunslinger. But so is Bailey, Tua and Lawrence. All 4 of them will fire into traffic without a moment of hesitation. So what’s the difference if they all share comparable accuracy when doing so? The only thing I can come up with are receivers.

Shrout was bailed out by an early whistle on an int that was uglier than the 1st int of BM. Just because it didn’t show up on the stat sheet doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

Trevor Lawrence is probably one of the better qb prospects we have seen in a long time. No need to argue that. Tua is extremely accurate and yeah he has a different level of talent around him. The fact of the matter is he was making the awesome throws as a freshman. Yeah Maurer did make some good throws and I'm not saying he is bad but those other 2 QBs are on another level than Maurer. I believe the argument against him in the spring was consistency. If Maurer can't beat out JG then that just confirms it.

Yeah I know but I’m beginning to wonder about that “consistency” word coming out of camp. In the spring game at one point out starting qb was 2-9 and finished the game around 50%. Our other freshman qb finishes around 50% as well and both struggled with accuracy throughout the game. In comparison our true freshman qb was by far the most “consistent” at 70%. Idk about you but I wouldn’t bet my paycheck against BM with the 2s vs JG with the 1s if BM took every snap like JG did. I seen inconsistent but it JG and Saturday looked the exact same.

I think JG is scared to to turn the ball over so he commits less turnovers and that's why he gets the nod. I know he looked pitiful Saturday in regards to ball security. In my opinion he was responsible for all the turnovers Saturday. And one that didn't count. As far as the "consistency" thing goes, we only have the information they give us to go off of. Maurer did look really good in the drives he was in until the picks happened. There is a lot we don't see so I guess we just have to trust the coaches.
