It sounds to me like subscription-based recruiting services are attempting to drive panic/concern amongst various fanbases on the day before Early NSD to get clicks and engagement, which in turn sells advertisements for their website.

I am shocked. Who could have seen this coming.
It’s either that or building up suspense for those they are not sure about. Two choices

And when we do we are ass at it.

We once employed someone who was as good as there was at it. It would be nice for him to be a mentor for Heupel in this one area but he cant be trusted within 100 feet of the building because he only cares about himself.

I have more faith that A will happen. But I also thought that our strong season would lead more players here. That doesn't seem to be the case.
That’s because recruits are making up their mind before the seasons even start now. Just look at who has top ten classes outside of the 3 paying the millions.

I'd rather that coach be developing top talent vs KY level recruiting classes.

So would I. However, Heupel has to develop and coach the team to perform above it's talent level before we can start getting more attention from the top level talent. After year 1 I would say that this team performed above the expectations of most. Getting the talent without the coaching/development gets you Jeremy Pruitt, NCAA violations, and a 3 to 5 win football team. In other words...patience.

Im not entirely sure why everyone is freaking the **** out? We are exactly where we like 3 weeks ago...a mediocreish class with a few dudes and will fill the gaps with transfers. The fact that we thought we could land a couple of extra dudes for a minute and now we apparently aren't changes nothing, we are right where we were before.

You are correct but see you are missing it. Because we are TN, we should be able to get these studs based off nothing more than our name. Trust me, come NSD this place will be about as fun as a Justin Bieber concert.

Tennessee has to claw and scratch for every measly recruit while our competitors are cherry picking 4 & 5 stars. What gives here?

If you don't understand the impact of winning several NC's, playing for them or an SEC championship on recruiting then I don't know what to tell you. When UT wins on the field more consistently, then a lot of the instate recruits and national recruits will look at UT a lot more early on.

I know people will fire away for being even semi-negative. However, the way we are finishing is concerning. Where we are ranking-wise is about what I anticipated when Heupel was hired, but how we are ending is a red flag. I know it is the honeymoon phase so all red flags will be ignored by some. The concerning thing to me is the lag in our recruiting has correlated with KY and Mizzou's recruiting surge. I know 34 of the last 37 and 62-24, but it is still concerning for the future of our program in 2 to 3 years.

Y'all fall for this crap every time. I don't know when y'all are going to figure out that AP and others aren't nearly as connected as some of you want to believe. They are wrong quite a bit and have lost a lot of the connections they once had under Fulmer, and Kiffin. Case in point the Juco cornerback that committed to Auburn last night, the UT writers tried to play it off as a close race when in fact all of those around him were pointing to Auburn. Many recruits aren't truthful or will ignore writers from team sites.
