'25 GA S Lagonza Hayward (Florida)

The bad part about that is generally you’ve got someone looking out for themselves instead of the recruit. Florida makes some crazy offers sometimes, greases the right hand then doesn’t follow through on their financial promises. Kid is naive AF if that’s where he lands. Idk if we have the best offer but I do know he will get what’s been promised to him with Spyre if he comes here.
This^

It’s crazy how family or close friends can completely alter their loved ones future and influence them to make a decision for their own gain smh. It’s so foul to me.

I can honestly say this stuff doesn't affect me at all. Actually, I kinda would like to see schools keep commitments silent until signing day. I'm long past the day of counting a recruit in the fold just because he made a commitment. Maybe we can change it to "i might come play here IDK yet" thing instead of commitment. 😅. If this year shows anything...throwing a bunch of money at players and "loading up" doesn't always work out best. TBD i guess.

we won 7 games four years ago. our freshman qb won 10 games. our recruiting should be top 5-7, but is top 10. Florida always recruits well, but i'm buying TN stock.

After what happened at the Swamp in 2023, I am not taking anything for granted. We don't travel well.

Who’s taking it for granted? However, it is tough to turn around the noise like Napier was going through. He has appeased them for now, but he’s got major work to do. Another 7 or 8 win season still won’t cut it at UF.

In state talent still is somewhat an obstacle; Georgia and Florida have it in spades, we’re starting to get better in state talent but no where as good. Florida’s resurgence has entirely been nil spending though here; they’ve had a history of overpromising then underdelivering on their nil deals.

We will be scarier and will have even more momentum coming off - at minimum - a playoff appearance
Have to rebuild the Oline next year. Swamp will be a hard place to win unless our Oline comes together quickly. Of course if Lagway bolts Florida is screwed. I imagine he could get whatever he wants in nil at a place like Ohio State.

I agree and here is the problem for Florida:
2025 Schedule
at Miami
Georgia in Jacksonville
Tennessee
Texas
at Texas A&M
at LSU
at Ole Miss
at Kentucky
Mississippi State
Florida St
South Florida
LIU(FCS)

Even if they are a much improved team, it will be very difficult to even win 7 or 8 games with that schedule.

Basically everyone but alabama. That's rough.

We had both also, and Hugh Freeze finished 4th by average star his first year. Oregon has basically zero in-state talent. Tennessee is in the top 10 by state, plus we have Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and North Carolina all around us. Oregon basically only has Cali, Nevada and Arizona. Which Georgia has more talent then all them combined by number of 5 and 4 stars.

Money and playing time. Auburn has both.

Oregon does have some from the east, but 10 of theirs are west coast players. Geography is still a variable in recruiting. UT would get more players right now if the state had more to offer.
