'25 GA S Lagonza Hayward (Florida)

I will say… he’s always seemed more shaky to me than he let on. Flirting with UGA after he committed, taking visits when it seemed like he was ours. Still, thought we had weathered all that. Caught me off guard. And the way UF has flipped all these guys all of a sudden makes me think they are throwing money around now that it’s known Billy is coming back. Can’t blame them, I would be doing the same thing to capitalize on the momentum.
I don’t know why anyone would put one ounce of faith in UF NIL after their recent history with it

Billy may keep his job, but I’m surprised if Lagway isn’t shopping around. He could earn a king’s ransom for the hype he has built himself by playing hard against Georgia before going down to self injury, early in the game.

If I was Shane Beamer, I’d be telling Lagway the only thing Beamer Ball 2.0 is missing is Vick 2.0.
Dude Carolina has their qb. Sellers isn’t the passer Lagway is but he’s the most dynamic player they’ve had at that position maybe ever. None of Spurrier’s qbs were any good.

The only way we’ll get to a different level in recruiting at this point is by hiring, developing or prioritizing coaches who are great recruiters.

And what do we have now?

Not saying we can’t do better. But we’re in the College Football Playoffs.

Tennessee “in my opinion “ has walked a beautiful balance of transfer portal and HS talent.

I think on the spectrum of coaching vs recruiting, we’re definitely calibrated to coaching with Spyre doing a great job to assist in recruiting.

To be clear, we’re 10-2 and in the CFBP so I think we’ve done a fantastic job across the board. The question was just asked how we move up a tier in recruiting and that’s how. Not saying we need to

Do you anticipate any staff changes this off-season? I’m wondering if making the playoff will result in Heupel deciding changes aren’t needed because of the on field success.

I don’t think we have to choose if we don’t want to. I think we could attract great recruiters and developers with our current situation.

I think difficult part for Heup is to make the vacancies.

I mean, are changes really needed if you make the playoff? Isn't that the goal? The constant bashing of the Oline coach is ridiculous. How many yards rushing did we have this year?

I'm sure a couple of coaches may leave anyway.

We pay as much as anyone for our assistants. So we’re willing. Would be nice if position coaches could do both but I guess this model works too, just more costly. Need more Levorn Harbins.

Pruitt had great recruiters who couldn’t develop guys. These guys have develop players everywhere they have been. Be careful just getting a guy who can only recruit.

Ah!
Very well explained.

Do we need to- is a question I ask myself.
We’ve got a one time 5 star ATH and Top 50 WR just riding the bench in year 2 for both.

Guys like Tre Poteat and Joakim Dodson don’t make us pump our chest, but I think they’re both exactly the type of players any program wants. Athletic guys that just do their job and play winning football.

Some of these higher ranked guys come with a touch of “privilege “ and their demands can cause disruption. It tempts favoritism which if your program isn’t solid can cause your coaches to lose respect.

But there’s a huge difference Joakim Dodson and Jeremiah Smith 😄. Right?

I personally think, Heupel will be able to squeeze out a National Championship at some point in time. But in order to be in the game year after year. Yeah, we need to do what you suggest. You’re right.

Considering the entire class is roasting this guy on social media, I do not believe he will be in this class. Hard to come back after that
I don’t know. He seems to walk to his own drum beat. Not sure how much he cares about those tweets.

They’ll welcome him back if he signs with Tennessee in Thursday…

Banks may leave anyways for another job. Inge gets promoted, Willie may retire this year or next anyways, Rodney I have no idea what he has in mind with Chop waiting in the wings. So you could have almost complete shakeup on the defensive side of the ball.

Probably not the specific positions you wanted addressed but all that turnover probably makes it less likely that you see any change on the offensive side unless someone takes another job elsewhere.

0% chance any assistants are fired

Any changes will be because somebody left on their own.

We’ve led the SEC in rushing 3 years in a row. The Elarbee bashing is ludicrous.
