Dude get off his nutzHe was highly thought of and highly sought after prior to Florida. He's definitely had a bad start. This season started horrendously. But they finished strong, and they look like they could be on the rebound going into next season. People can ignore that and pretend it's not true all they want, but it's what has happened on the football field with the emergence of Lagway. I hope Napier continues to struggle, but I think there's a good chance he's figured it out. I just think people need to pay attention and not be surprised if Florida continues to improve next season. Burying your head in the sand and ignoring what's going on is never a good strategy.
the link is provided where 247s rankings definitely has them ranked 7, try reading it. They improved over the season and had to play a 3rd string quarterback against texas. I also never said we would lose to them, I said dont sleep on them. I am not sure why your so butthurt about very logical observations and thought processes. No, you didn't. You said that Florida had the 7th ranked class in 2024. It was 13th.
His record in year 3 doesn't mean anything? That is ridiculous .... and what about Tennessee's issues from the Pruitt era? The circumstances that Heupel inherited in 2021 were much worse than what Napier inherited in 2022. Heupel is 2-1 vs Napier. You are obviously a Florida fan who is trying to carry water for Napier. I'm sorry, but his tenure has been an unmitigated disaster so far.
This is all im saying, not sure why some people are getting their feelings hurt about it.He was highly thought of and highly sought after prior to Florida. He's definitely had a bad start. not defending them, these are logical observations, i was born in 91, do you know how many times ive gotten too experience actually beating florida in years we were suppose too? cause its a very small number, im not naive enough to overlook the history of the game or the signs of positive momentum they have, never said we weren't also on the upswing and in a better positionI don't think I've ever seen a Vol "fan" defend UF like this. Pathetic.
Lots of fans defended Dooley, then Butch, and then Pruitt. But people tend to forget that. Hell, there are people who still hang on the nuts of Lane Kiffin, a guy who jumped ship in the middle of the night to leave for another program.Absolutely they would not.
Fretting over Florida not being a complete dumpster fire will add neither a single minute to my life nor a single point to our side of the scoreboard in the Swamp next year, so why worry?Lots of fans defended Dooley, then Butch, and then Pruitt. Not a Billy Napier fan, nor am I a supporter of Florida, but I've learned to never overlook them or underestimate them. As "bad" as they were this year, it still took OT for us to beat them. And we were in Neyland.
Much of my "emotion" has been misrepresented in this thread. I've been angry simply because Hayward decommitted. I saw him as a key piece in this class. But as for Florida, eff 'em. I do think some people are being naive though if they think we're just going to march into the Swamp next year and whoop their ass. It'll be a challenge. It was a challenge this year, in Neyland, while they "sucked" and we're CFP bound.Seemed to me like there was quite a bit of emotion in this thread, both from you and others. My mistake.

Yeah I'm not sure who the protected games would be...I know Bama and Vandy, but not sure who they'd assign for the 3rd if they go that route. Think the earlier rumors mentioned Kentucky or South Carolina, but we didn't even play South Carolina this year lol. They won’t be playing every year soon. In fact, they may not play in 2026. This won’t be a protected rivalry.
It would have to be Kentucky. We’re their top SEC rival. Tennessee has played Kentucky more than any other school.Yeah I'm not sure who the protected games would be...I know Bama and Vandy, but not sure who they'd assign for the 3rd if they go that route. Yeah that makes sense. Hence why some were wanting 9 games to protect the Third Saturday in October. It would have to be Kentucky. We’re their top SEC rival. Tennessee has played Kentucky more than any other school.
But that’s if they go to 9 conference games. If they stick with 8, only 1 rivalry is protected. That would be Vandy.
If we keep the 8 game format, the talk has been that we only keep 1 permanent, that was we play every team home and away in a 4 year span.If we kept the "8 games" format and kept Vandy and Alabama, that could mean we get 6 new SEC teams in 2026-27. I'd think we swap OU for Texas and then get LSU, Ole Miss, Missouri, Auburn & South Carolina.
