'25 GA S Lagonza Hayward (Florida)

In this scenario, Vols would be 30-9 over the last 3 seasons with a playoff berth.

Seems rather momentumy to me
Yeah!!!! How about some facts behind it too…
We are the only team to have beat Bama twice in the last 5 years…
We are more than likely going to be the only team with a Freshman qb leading us into the playoffs.
Heupel has now beat both Bama and Florida in the same year 2 of the last 3 years. The last time that happened was under Fulmer and he only did it once I believe

How does that explain Florida allowing 41 points to Miami (at home), 33 points to Texas A&M (at home), and 49 points to Texas? Does Lagway play defense?

According to 247 Sports Composite Team Rankings for 2024 :

Florida finished 13th overall. 247 Sports has become the most commonly referenced service on VolNation, and in most places where college football recruiting is discussed. I'm not sure where you came up with Florida finishing 7th ... but it wasn't from the most reputable college football recruiting service.

Give me a break. Billy Napier's 18-19 overall record at Florida speaks for itself. He is a Ron Zook redux.

i used 247 rankings. also if you look at the recruiting classes and scores/ the difference between 7-15 is virtue of opinion all very similar classes that could finish in any order by the time that class graduates.

his record doesn't really mean anything considering their circumstances and heupal still hasnt beaten florida in the swamp reguardless of the issues theyve had.

No, you didn't. You said that Florida had the 7th ranked class in 2024. It was 13th.

His record in year 3 doesn't mean anything? That is ridiculous .... and what about Tennessee's issues from the Pruitt era? The circumstances that Heupel inherited in 2021 were much worse than what Napier inherited in 2022. Heupel is 2-1 vs Napier. You are obviously a Florida fan who is trying to carry water for Napier. I'm sorry, but his tenure has been an unmitigated disaster so far.

Just "being in the playoffs" isn't a momentum builder in the 12 team era that it was in the 4 team era.

Need to win a game or two at least to build real momentum from it. But got to be in it to have a chance to win playoff games. That is step 1. Need to take the next step.

I really want to know what these type of posters are smoking. If you're going to troll, at least be subtle.

I don't think I've ever seen a Vol "fan" defend UF like this. Pathetic.

He's 18-19 overall with a 7-5 season in his 3rd year.

He stinks.
He was highly thought of and highly sought after prior to Florida. He's definitely had a bad start. This season started horrendously. But they finished strong, and they look like they could be on the rebound going into next season. People can ignore that and pretend it's not true all they want, but it's what has happened on the football field with the emergence of Lagway. I hope Napier continues to struggle, but I think there's a good chance he's figured it out. I just think people need to pay attention and not be surprised if Florida continues to improve next season. Burying your head in the sand and ignoring what's going on is never a good strategy.

Yep. I'm not sure what folks think will change if our strategy of worry, concern, attention, is found to inadequately prepare us for our role as pure spectators.

As for the staff, pretty sure they are intimately aware of what is happening at other programs.

You are acting like Florida is on some kind of a roll. Their 49-17 loss to Texas was less than a month ago (November 9th). I give them credit for beating Ole Miss (and I'm glad they did), but LSU fell apart at the end of the year. There is no reason to think that Florida has turned any type of corner ....

There is no need for a Tennessee fan to be "Burying your head in the sand and ignoring what's going on." What a weird thing to say.

We aren't the team with a 7-5 record and an 18-19 coach. We are the team headed to the college football playoff, with a coach who is 37-14, after inheriting a 3-7 team under NCAA investigation for multiple Level 1 rule violations from the previous staff.

I guess making truthful observations about a rival is now considered "worrying" or somehow supporting them. It used to be conversation.

I think it's more the tone that suggests that if we don't start paying attention, we're in trouble. The people who matter are. We just watch.

I'm really trying to be nice to you given your circumstances, but you make it so damn hard.

Okay. I tend to pay attention to our rivals. Guess not everyone does.

I really wasn't impressed with Florida in the FSU game. FSU was just abysmal. 5 lost fumbles is pathetic...and they were unforced.

I think Lagway could be good next year, but he's not there yet. We'll see how much he develops. If he's to be better than Mertz next season, that would require a lot of improvement. Regardless, Tennessee should be the better team. The question in that game will be, can we finally win in The Swamp. It's not about Florida's personnel.
