If you look at the teams that beat LSU, & blew out Ole Missy, & Missed Out St. they all had those athletic dual threat Qb's. They are just so hard to defend especially on 3rd down. All 4 of the teams in playoff's have those athletic mobile Qb's. :good!::eek:k::clapping:

Happy New Year Volnation!!!!!!

But, but, but, Dobbs isn't the answer! We got have a throwing qb !!!!!!!

All rivals rankings. That is the team that just went 2-0 vs SEC this season. Probably would have won the East. Who can explain this?
Ever thought about how many 4 & 5 star players Boise St gets? They show up year in & year out in bowls, beat higher ranked teams, like this year taking down #10 Arizona. Puts some players in the NFL. Who the %$#@ would want play there? Doing more with less, they are textbook examples of that. Kills me to year in year out seeing these guys ranked higher than the Big Orange.

Ya don't say.

Doesn't matter how good they are. That Flexbone is a pain to get ready for in the middle of the season.

I'm going to have to be in Bobby Dodd Stadium for that game. The Tennessee fans will probably have 3/4 of the seats during that game.

Totally agree, triple option football is about discipline & assignments in executing it as well as defensing it. The whole offensive scheme is about I am more disciplined in my offensive execution each every play than you are executing your defense every play. Teams that maintain defensive execution beat GT.

1. recruiting analysts miss on a lot of recruits. no way they can assess and analyze all high school players. not enough bodies to accomplish so there are tons of misses every year. Rivals has really fallen off the last several years. IMO 247 has the better analysts

2. there are several schools that use a model where they redshirt as many players as possible. allows them to spend an entire year working on getting stronger physically and maturing. Its a good model that can lead to lots of success. has some years where they have a down season or time but has a lot of success.

The coaches always say that if the recruiting analysts really knew anything, they'd be on coaching staffs.

Bingo.....more than one way to skin a cat. LSU takes the approach not unlike a Coach Fulmer of selling the NFL, but tge downside is that some kids nit really ready bolt after three years.

GA Tech playing in the ACC:

2010 - 6-7
2011 - 8-5
2012 - 7-7
2013 - 7-6

Maybe we should have given Dooley one more year?

You almost forget how mediocre Tech has been. Paul Johnson was in very real danger coming into this season.

I remember when the Vols played Navy. Squeaked out a hard fought win but the team was badly beat up. Fulmer said it affected their next game. I would never put that offense on the schedule, especially the next few year with this QB. They must recruit scholars as well as athletes at Tech. Must pass Calculus by year 2.

Why would we want a coach that had to be home with the fam at 5 every night? Didn't recruit? Coaches hated working for him?

Tons of underclassmen and good (not great) coaching and development of the players for their system.

This will be the best GA Tech will be for some 5-15 years to come.

They do this every once in a while. They won a share in National Champion as recently as 1990. They have 4 legit National Titles to Georgia's legit 2.

They were an old member of the SEC and when the SEC recently expanded, I was hoping they would join again.....

They have pretty solid football tradition. But have been kind of be "okay" a few times over the past few decades. This year they were really good. Very experienced team......

I think GT wins 7 games in 2015 and probably 2016. I think GT wins 9-10 games in 2017 and will make a run in the ACC. GT went 10-3 in 2010 and took until 2014 to win 10 again.

Wait till Nathan Cottrell gets down there. Everyone will be wondering why he's not in Knoxville. One I think we missed.
