'24 GA WR Mike Matthews (Tennessee)

eh just wait until he gets that california tax return at the end of the year......
May need a fact check, but I think he wouldn’t have to pay Cali income tax if his permanent residence is still in a different state. Not 100% sure on that. I think he’d pay Georgia taxes because Cali would only be temporary residence. Doesn’t matter, just curious how that works

Wrong. California makes you do a part-year residence tax return. It allocates your total income between the two states for income tax purposes. However, CA’s methodology for doing so results in you actually being taxed on greater than 100% of your actual total income because it systematically allocates more than CA’s true share of your income to the taxable income amount reportable to CA.

Ain’t that some ****

Man they saying Matthews is going to be another Heisman like Bush.

They just now had Addison go in round 1.

You all don't know what they have to sell out here.

Y'all thinking of cost of living and all that crap, these kids are being set to live like kings in Los Angeles with a top notch education. Then they go wherever they want.

Look, I've went to college in Tennessee, Texas, and California. I'm telling you all it's different out here.

If Tennessee holds on to Matthews then I'd be super shocked.
I'm being facetious about Boo Carter ( i have no inkling regardless UM or UT) but when it comes to USC and who they recruit....when they really want someone they'll get them more times than not.

For a kid that doesn’t have to pay for housing, meals, or transportation, and also gets a stipend and NIL, Los Angeles is awesome. You’re taking out the biggest financial deterrents and giving the kid great weather, a big city, a program on the rise, a coach who has been successful, and a scheme that fits the player. It’s not a great city for the average American, but a kid without taxes or expenses can live large in LA.

Have to pay very high state taxes on that NIL.

Without taxes? Property taxes, sure (if he lives on campus or apartment), but he'll be paying income tax on that NIL money.

So you just write novels for your own amusement? Not a single soul on this forum thinks you’re telling the truth that you went to college in three states. I have seen your writing and grammar. That’s a laugh. Second I doubt you have been to LA or near the USC campus. It’s a literal crap hole outside of 6 blocks. I work here, you would need a Time Machine to the 90’s and early 2000’s to see this place as palatable. Stop lying to strangers on the internet weirdo.

They don’t have anything to offer that we can’t, other than the beach obviously. Both schools have a good qb, good offense, team on the up. Only thing that LA has that Knoxville doesn’t is the smog, crime, bad politics and traffic. USC isn’t located in Manhattan Beach!

Lol let's be real, most kids would choose to live in SoCal over Knoxville.

Usc has the better QB, atleast up to this point. Not to mention some kids love the beach, bright lights and fame with Hollywood close. And you're way off on the crime. Knoxville has a much higher crime rate in violent and property crime than LA. I still would choose Knox though.

Given their DA faced a recall, I have a hard time trusting crime rate numbers when they are known for not persuing violent criminals.

They will be in the big ten playing in cold ass weather half the yr. They better get a lot tougher fast. And as far as bright lights go, it sure won’t be at their own stadium.

I can only go by the numbers I lived in Maryville till '93 and Knoxville had a much lesser crime rate. Now, like a lot of places it's gotten beyond ridiculous.

They do have a lot of homeless people but that's misleading considering LA has 4Million people and Knox 190,000. I have visited Hollywood and it's awesome but no way in hell I'd live their. But I wouldn't move up North to the cold either.
