Not with the people I know. But I know people that like the country, woods and outdoors. They would suffocate thinking they had to live in LA.

Objectively speaking if I were a kid with no ties to UT and had to pick LA and Knox, and I was banking, Knox wouldn’t even be on my radar. With that said if I had to pick UT be USC, USC wouldn’t even me on my radar, no other school would be.

My post wasn't really directed at whether MM is thinking about taxes so much as it was to refute the idea that taxes would not be paid on NIL dollars earned in California.

If recruits chose solely on best places, they’d certainly be up there.

I don’t think anyone could say with a straight face that Athens, GA and Tuscaloosa, AL are better than Southern California.

It’s like your choice in life partners. It’s all about what YOU find attractive.

I spend too much time in LA for work as I have customers there. For me, I could not live there. 30 minutes to go 3 miles at times. I had a friend move from a very nice area because the homeless would sleep on her stoop and she had to step over them to walk her dog and she almost got stuck with a needle laid down on the community grill where she had sat down her coffee.

Yes there are great areas and being a football player maybe great to be in the LA area but traffic near USC…..S U C K S.

LA would not be attractive for me but the things I found awesome at 18 now disgust me.

I have been to SoCal a few times. There are few places in the country I would not prefer over it. That’s before you factor in the political and social insanity and taxes.

Probably the least friendly and most self absorbed area I’ve encountered

Yeah for vacationing.

If you’re a kid who eats, sleeps, and breathes football, then the south and Midwest dwarves socal. It’s cliche to state this but football really does mean more down here. A vast majority of people in LA don’t give a damn about college football. People in Knox, Athens, South Bend, and Ann Arbor (among others) absolutely live college football. Kids care about that sort of thing.

Really I went to Michigan because of my job for a month or two and they don't welcome people with open arms either🤥

Right, which makes sense. But also why I said if they were choosing solely for location, no one would think they would choose Athens or Tuscaloosa or Columbus OH
