'25 GA WR Travis Smith (Tennessee)

Will be very interesting to see if they take another portal WR. I believe Heup has taken at least 1 every year hes been here.
I’m fine with Brazzell, Squirrel, Nimrod, Webb, Matthews, Staley, etc next year

But I’m sure we will take one. I hope we go the smaller school route and get another freshman all american

Rad Jackson is right up there with Smith, Jr., IMO. Just didn’t camp much and had a low key recruitment. And Dodson ain’t chopped liver.

Pope is stacking up WR recruits.
He is one that always slips my mind and I honestly haven’t watched any film on him.

I just believe what everyone says about him…stud.

What kind of WR is he? Possession or more of a speed guy?

He’s well rounded. He’s fast, good size for a WR, and plays physical. High points the ball well. He reminds me a little of Odell Beckham, Jr. in terms of style of play, but taller.

Good to have someone come in and push competition as well as long as they’re a fit. Sometimes guys get too comfortable thinking they know they have a spot locked up. Heupel don’t really play true freshmen a lot regardless of how talented they are. Bring in that outside competition

Tennessee always seems to attract that kind of coach.
Heupel isn’t as bad as Fulmer was in that regard, but if you look at Alabama and how they use Williams who’s younger than Matthew’s and was originally class of 2025- and we need his speed, yet…

Look at Boo Carter. Needed that kid to be good, and he has been.

You gotta wonder if Matthews were given the same chance…

We’re 6-1 in the thick of the playoff hunt fresh off victories over Bama and Florida. Hard to complain, but we really need Matthews this season. And a 3rd RB to emerge

Matthews is getting some snaps. He’s not getting targets. Whether that’s because he’s not open or because plays aren’t being called for him, I don’t know. But Heupel made a comment recently that he has some things he needs to work on in order to become a bigger part of the offense. Hopefully, he’s made progress over the open date.

He must not be getting targets and play time because Thornton, Bru, Squirrell and Brazzell are slow and they can’t catch but Heupel won’t play freshmen so Matthews sits..obviously

Tennessee commit Travis Smith will attend the showdown in Athens this weekend. Georgia has continued to communicate with him and his family in recent weeks as they want to add receivers to this class. Smith tells us he is excited to see a big-time game with playoff implications, at this time, we feel like that is all this really comes down to.
The Bulldogs will have plenty of conversations with him on Saturday, but in our estimation, the numbers in this class at receiver and the relationships on Rocky Top continue to line up and make a lot of sense for the top-100 pass-catcher.
